Today, on our 2008 Nissan Frontier, we're going to be test-fitting the Convert-A-Ball Cushion Ball Mount, part number AMSC4. Now, the first thing we want to do is measure our hitch height. That's from the ground to the inside top of our receiver tube. Our Frontier has a hitch height measurement of 17 inches. Now, keep in mind that this measurement will vary some even within 2008 Frontiers. Variances in tires, exact model type, and aftermarket parts, even the hitch itself, will determine the hitch height, so make sure you measure your particular vehicle.
Now we'll go ahead and test out ball mount. We'll insert the shank of the ball mount into the receiver tube of the hitch and line up the hitch pinholes. Then we'll secure the mount with the standard 5/8 inch pin and clip. Now, our ball mount offers a four-inch drop. From the ground to the top of our ball platform, we'll now measure 13 inches. To measure your trailer, you'll go from the ground to the bottom of the coupler and that will be your trailer height.
If that measurement matches up with the ball platform height, then it would be a good application to use. Now, we'll go ahead and flip the ball mount over. It offers a 2 3/4 inch rise. That will put us at 19 3/4 inches. Again, if that's where your trailer measures, then this would be a good application. That's it for our test-fit of the Convertible Cushion Ball Mount, part number AMSC4 on a 2008 Nissan Frontier..
