Today, on our 2008 Nissan Frontier, we'll be test fitting the Convert-A-Ball Cushion Ball Mount, part number AMSC2. Now, the first thing we want to do is measure our hitch height. That's from the ground to the inside tab of our receiver tube. Our Frontier has a hitch height measurement of 17 inches. Now, keep in mind that this measurement will vary some even within 2008 Frontiers. Variances in tires, exact model type, and aftermarket parts, even the hitch itself, will determine the hitch height, so make sure you measure your particular vehicle.
Now, we'll go ahead and fit in the ball mount. We'll insert the shank of the mount into the receiver tube of the hitch and line up the hitch pi holes. Well then secure our mount with the standard 5/8-inch pinning clip. This ball mount offers a two-inch draft, so when we measure from the ground to the top of our ball platform, we'll get a measurement of 15 inches. Now, if you measure your trailer coupler from the ground to the bottom edge of the coupler, and you get 15 inches as your trailer height, this would be a good application to use.
Now, also flip the ball mount over. It offers a three quarter-inch rise, so from the ground to the top of our ball platform, we'll get 17 and three-quarter inches. Again, if that's your trailer height measurement when at sitting level, then this would be a good application to use. Now, that's it for out test fit of the Convert-A-Ball Cushion Ball Mount, part number AMSC2, on our 2008 Nissan Frontier.
