Review of the Convert-A-Ball Interchangeable Ball Set on a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we are going to be installing the convert a ball interchangeable ball set part number 904B. Now in order to install this convert a ball system on this particular ball mount, we are going to need to use a hitch ball bushing that goes from an inch and a quarter opening down to a one inch. As our ball mount has an inch and a quarter opening on it and a shank on our convert a ball is only a one inch. We'll be using the hitch ball bushing inch and a quarter to one inch part number F-2. We'll begin by first sliding our bushing over the shank of our ball. With that into position, we can slide it to the hole on the ball mount, put that into position like that, we'll slide our lock washer on followed by our hex nut. We'll then and go ahead and take our impact gun and tighten down the nut.

Now in tightening down the nut, it's helpful if you take a large Philip head screwdriver and slide it through the hole in the ball shank. This will help keep it from spinning. You may still need to use a pipe wrench to help secure the ball mount portion as you tightening down the nut the rest of the way. Now with the nut tighten down, we'll go ahead and take our powder pin and slide it into position. Take a pair of pliers and bend each side back a little that the nut can't back off. Now that is done, we'll go ahead and flip our ball mount to the normal position.

We'll then reinstall our pin and clip. To do that, we'll simply line up the holes. Put our clip back into position and actually use the convert a ball, it has a little locking pin here that slides back and forth and that actually what secures the ball to the ball shank here. There is a hole in the ball shank that you line up with the pin, slide it back into position and it will lock it into place. We'll go ahead and put the two and five 16 ball on for now. Line up our hole and then push it all the way through and the balls lock into position and you want to take it off, simply take a screwdriver something to push the pin out a little bit and you can change the ball out and that will do it for our installation of the convert a ball interchangeable ball set, part number 904B on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500.
