How to Install the ClearPlus Winter Windshield Wiper Blade on a 2018 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2018 Honda CRV, we're going to be a doing a test fit of the ClearPlus Winter Windshield Wiper Blades. I've already got them installed. Let's check them out. These are going to be a great replacement or upgrade to your factory windshield wiper blades. What makes these different than some of the others, right away is that it features a synthetic boot that covers that frame. This is going to prevent the snow and ice from locking that frame up and allowing it to continue to flex over your windshield. On the inside, it features flexors on both sides.

This is what allows it to get maximum contact to your windshield. The squeegee has a large profile. It's a lot bigger than your factory squeegee, that I can tell. It's going to last a long time.Let's go ahead and take a look and see how our factory windshield wipers perform. Now, they worked as expected.

Let's go ahead and install our ClearPlus blades. To uninstall the factory wiper blades, you'll need to raise up the arm and support it from the bottom, here. Now, there's a little tab just on the inside of the J-hook. We'll need to squeeze it, and then push the wiper blade towards the arm, and it should come loose. I'm going to use my pointer finger.

Just press it, and then push it towards, so you can see how it easily released. We can set that aside. Now, I do recommend using a paper towel, or some sort of towel to lay the arm back down. That way it doesn't accidentally come down on that windshield and crack it.Before we install our new ClearPlus blade, let's go ahead and do a side-by-side comparison. I've got them both laid out here, as you can see.

This one being our factory, and this one being our ClearPlus blade. You right away, you can see the difference. This one's got that synthetic boot covering all of its internal parts. That way when it does snow or ice, it won't affect that flexing that's going to help it contour to our windshield. With our factory one here, there's no frame. You can see how it's just a plastic, and it flexes just a little bit. It's going to wear out a lot faster than the ClearPlus blade. To get it installed, you're pretty much just going to reverse your steps. It's very easy. You can see right here, we've got the saddle, with its little tab. What we need to do is raise up our arm, line up that hook with the saddle, and that hook's going to be installed away from that button that we talked about. We're going to start here, line it up, and you may have to raise up that saddle just a little bit. Once it starts sliding, you just listen for a click, and then we're all set, just like that. We can go ahead and repeat the same process with the other side. After checking them out, they didn't give us as much as a streak-free wipe as I wanted, but I can tell you that they're going to be a great replacement and they're going to hold up a lot better than your factory windshield wipers. Because of that synthetic boot, they won't freeze up or get locked up in those wintry months, and they'll still continue to flex over your windshield.Once everything's installed, that's going to complete our test fit of the ClearPlus Winter Windshield Wiper Blades on our 2018 Honda CRV.
