How to Install the CIPA Clip-On Towing Mirror on a 2018 Kia Sorento

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Kia Sorento, we're going to be taking a look at the CIPA Universal Towing Mirror, part number 7070. Now, it's also available in a quantity of two using part number 7070-2.So here I am at the back of my trailer, and you can obviously see me in the factory mirror, but if I take a few steps out, you're going to lose track of me. That's where our towing mirror's going to come into play. It's going to make it a lot safer and a lot easier for us to change lanes on the highway, park our trailer, or even pull up to the camp grounds. Our universal towing mirror is going to provide us that extra field of view, so whenever we're towing our trailer we know exactly what's going on around us, and it's also going to prevent us from having to stick our head out the window and really stretch to see what's going on back there. It's going to provide us that extra field of view with the extra mirror that's going to be on there, and it is fully adjustable, so we're going to be able to find that perfect angle whenever we're driving down the road. And the way the mirror's going to attach is very simple. We're just going to have these two rubber straps that are going to come underneath and up top and hook onto some tabs on the mirror arm.

Now, the strap are rubber, so we're not going to have to worry about any kind of scratches or abrasions on our factory paint. For those tight quarters situations, maybe where we have to fold our mirror in, we're not going to have to fully remove our mirror because we're still going to be able to fold our mirrors in. Just keep in mind that at the very corner here, it is going to come in contact with the door if we push it too far.The nice thing about our universal mirror is that it's not going to affect the functionality of our Sorento. We're still going to have full adjustment of our mirror, being able to adjust it to where we need it to drive normally, and it's also not going to affect the lane change sensor, either. Now, while the straps are going to partially cover up that turn signal that's built into the mirror, we are still going to be able to see it, because it's only going to be in those sections where the straps are going around. So whether you picked up just the one mirror or the set, they're going to install the same on both sides. And the nice thing about them being universal is if you have several vehicles in your family that you tow with, chances are, they might fit that as well. So now that we've gone over some of the features, let's show you how easy it is to get it installed.Putting our mirror on it going to be extremely easy.

You're just going to wanna open the arms up, and then if we bring our attention to the tabs here on each one of arms, it's got a little bit of a ledge to it. You want to make sure that that is going in between the mirror glass and the housing itself. So with the arms opened up, we're just going to slide our mirror into place, and loosely get it to where we want it to sit. And once we have those tabs resting, we're going to take the straps. There's kind of a little opening on the top, and we're going to wrap it around the mirror, bringing it over the top, and latching it on the clip on top of the mirror arm. From there, we can make any kind of adjustments.

If we need to tighten the strap, we can feed more through, pulling it tighter, or if it's too tight, we can feed the strap back through, loosening it up.And that'll finish up your look at the CIPA Clip-On Universal Towing Mirror, part number 7070 on our 2018 Kia Sorento.
