Hey there, RDX owners. Today on your 2009 Acura RDX, we're going to be taking a look at showing you how to get installed the CIPA clamp on towing mirror. It's available in a quantity of one or a quantity of two if you'd like one for the passenger side. To give you an idea of how these mirrors are going to help you out, you can clearly see me right now in the factory mirror and this is the view you're going to get without a towing mirror installed when going down the road. You can sort of see the boat but not really. You can see me, but if I come out to about here, you can see the wider field of view we're going to get.
This is going to make it much easier and safer for you when changing lanes, passing or parking while going down the road with whatever you're hauling on your RDX.The mirror is adjustable 360 degrees, so you can really get the view you need for your specific load and it also rotates and can be pivoted up and down, left and right as well as diagonally. Additionally, the knob here allows you to adjust the length out for longer loads. You can turn that knob right back up to tighten it down. The clamps are padded with rubber pads to ensure they're not going to harm or scratch your factory mirror, and unlike ones that attach with straps, there is nothing to cover your turn signal here on your tail light. Now, some people wonder, is this going to interfere with the operation of my factory mirror at all, and I'd like to point out that you can still fold in your factory mirror so you'll have that breakaway function. Additionally, you're still going to have full operation of your factory mirror so you can adjust that as you need to.
You can see here I'm just using the electronic adjustment and there's no interference. Now that we've gone over some features, we'll show you how easy they are to get it installed. That's one thing I do like about these is they're one of the easiest ones to install. It's a lot of the other ones, you have straps you have to fiddle with in terms of the universal fit ones, at least. These ones just slide in place. Two knobs on top, tighten it down.
If you purchase the kit with two, we'll do the same thing on the other side and you're ready to hit the road. That should just about do it for our look at the CIPA clamp on towing mirror for our 2009 Acura RDX.
