How to Install the CIPA Dual-View Clip-On Towing Mirror on a 2018 Toyota RAV4

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be doing a test fit on the CIPA Dual-View Clip-On Towing Mirror. It's available in a quantity of one with part number 11953. You could also get it in a quantity of two with part number 11953-2.It offers us a wide field of view. It's going to allow us to safely and easily change lanes, pass, park, or even back up while towing a small trailer or camper. As you can see, I'm visible in the towing mirror but not the factory mirror. Now, you'll notice there are two lenses on our towing mirror.

The smaller one is going to be our spot mirror. It's going to give us an accurate view of what's behind us while the larger mirror is going to be more for changing lanes and passing. Now, if I take a few steps in towards my trailer, you could see there's no blind spot by the way we have it set up, but this is the view you get with just your factor mirror. Both the larger and smaller mirror can be adjusted to most angles. We've got our up and down, diagonal, and side-to-side. Here, you can see that it's not going to interfere with the operation or movement of our factory mirror, and we could even still fold it in.

Here on the back side, it uses two adjustable rubber straps. The nice thing about them being rubber is you don't have to worry about them harming or scratching the finish of the back side of the mirror. Here, you can see it doesn't block the turn signal so we still got full use of that.A few great things about a universal towing mirror are, for one, it's for temporary use so you can take it off when you're done towing. Another great thing is, since they are universal, if you have any other trucks or SUVs in the household, it may work with those as well. It's a fast and easy installation.

We'll go ahead and show you that now.I'm here on the driver side of my RAV4. To begin our test, let's go ahead and turn our mirror over, and we want to loosen up these two knobs here. By doing so, it's going to allow us to open up our arms so we can correctly fit it around the housing. We'll also want to be sure that the tabs clip onto the inside of the housing. Now, let's set it in place.

Now, I'm just going to center it up with my mirror, make sure it's where I want it. Then we can come around to the back side and tighten up our knobs. Now, as you can see, we only had some minor adjustment here. That's okay. Now, let's run the straps. Now, when we run the straps, we want to be sure we have a little bit of tension on them already. That way when we clip them in place, it holds the mirror in place. So, we'll stretch it up over the mirror and connect it to that top hook. We can adjust our strap if we need to. Then, we'll just repeat the same process. Now, if we want to tighten or loosen, we can guide it up through and pull it down through the other side. We'll connect this last one, adjust our mirror how we want, and we're ready to tow. It's that simple. That's going to complete our test fit on the CIPA Dual-View Clip-On Towing Mirror on our 2018 Toyota RAV4.
