How to Install the CIPA Dual-View Clip-On Towing Mirror on a 2018 Toyota Highlander

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're gonna be test fitting CIPA's Universal Fit Dual-View Towing Mirror, part number 11953. You can also get these in a quantity of two with part number 11953-2.So as you can see here, I'm clearly visible in our factory mirror. But as I take a step towards the outside, I'm no longer visible in our factory mirror, but I can still be seen in our universal towing mirror. This is particularly useful when merging onto the highway, changing lanes, or during parking maneuvers. This universal towing mirror has two different types of mirrors in it. The outside mirror is gonna be a convex mirror, so it's gonna give you a larger range of view. And next to that, you're gonna have a flat mirror, which is gonna give you a more accurate view.

So do remember that things in the convex mirror may be closer than they appear. Each mirror can be adjusted both vertically and horizontally, and while it's installed, the factory mirror can full adjustment both vertical and horizontally. The breakaway function of the mirror can still be utilized, and it won't contact anything on the vehicle. It's held onto your mirror with two rubber straps. These are non-slick, and they're gonna prevent any scratches or abrasions from occurring while it's installed. Also while it's installed, you'll still have full-length visibility of your mirror side marker. What else is nice about this, since it's a universal design, if you have multiple vehicles or trailers, you can custom trailer it for both of those. We'll begin our installation by loosening the hold downs for both of the arms on the back. This will allow us to adjust it appropriately for our mirror. We'll then align our hooks up on our mirror.

Once we've got that set, we can go ahead and tighten those back down. We can now bring our straps up the back and hook it on the clip. And if the strap needs to be looser or tighter, you can do that by pushing the buckle up or down as you need to. We'll then repeat the same procedures on the other side. And that completes our test fit of CIPA's Universal Fit Dual-View Towing Mirror on our 2018 Toyota Highlander.
