How to Install the CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors on a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado New Body

Today on our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado New Body, we're going to be taking a look at the super custom slip-on towing mirrors. These mirrors are sold as a pair or individually. The pair is part number CM10900. Individually, the driver's side is 10901; passenger side is 10902. Let's take a look at the advantage we're going to get by adding on that custom mirror. As you can see as I step over you can see me in the factory mirror fine until I get to about this point. If I continue to stand over that's where that custom mirror is going to come into advantage and give us a lot more room or a lot more visibility here. Now these offer a nice aerodynamic design as you can see here.

Custom designed for each particular truck and vehicle, they give you a good custom fit. It's also a nice kind of aerodynamic right along with the factory mirror. This is going to reduce our road noise and also any kind of vibration. It's held in place using a wedge right up here in the front. The wedge is secured by the turn knob that you see there. Grips on very nicely right here.

That's going to allow it to stay in place and not move around or wiggle as we're going down the road. It's a nice screw so it doesn't really ever loosen up on you. As you can see it does allow for full adjustment. They are fold away mirrors. If you want to park this in a garage without having to remove the mirrors or something like that, it will be made very easy. ABS housing here, so it's going to be nice and durable.

UV resistance so not a lot of fading and stuff like that. It goes right around our factory mirror. As you can see here it's not going to interfere at all with whether it's a heated mirror, if it's got a blinker in the side, or if it's manually adjustable, automatically adjustable. You won't have any interference there. We're just going to gain on the outside here; a scratch resistant, manually adjustable mirror. It's going to help us customize our view.

While we're heading the road this is going to make it very . It won't make it very easy, but it will make it at least easier to see and help us maneuver our trailer, whether we're changing lanes, trying to back into a parking spot, or just maneuver down the road. Installation's made very easy. We're just going to have three components, it's completely tool free. We're going to have our mirror of course. We're going to have the black wedge, and also the black thumb screw. Now we've applied a piece of felt right there on the wedge and also right here on the mirror; that helps to reduce any kind of wear or anything. You'll want to be sure that your mirror surface is cleaned off. If you've got some road grit on there, you don't want anything that's actually going to scratch the back of the mirror when you remove these. With that clean we're just going to slide our mirror in place. Make sure the lips go around the front side of our mirror. Then the wedge will slide in here on the back side. You'll kind of slide that in until it meets up with the inside surface there. Take a look in there and make sure holes lined up with our outer hole here and then just turn it in. Usually, I don't know if the engineers thought of it or what the case was, but as you turn it, usually it will come tight right there at the CIPA logo straight across. There, right there. Nice good stop. You just want to check it, make sure it's butted up there, give it a wiggle, make sure it's not going to move on or off there. There looks good. That's going to complete today's look at the CIPA custom slip-on towing mirrors, part number CM10900 on our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado New Body. .
