How to Install the CIPA Clip-on Towing Mirror on a 2013 Acura MDX

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2013 Acura MDX, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Cipa Clip-on Towing Mirror. It's available in a quantity of one with part number 7070. You can also pick it up as a pair, with part number 7070-2. It offers us a wide stable view. It's gonna allow us to safely easily change lanes, pass, park or even backup when towing a trailer or camper. As you can see, I'm visible in the towing mirror but not the factory mirror.

Now if I take a few steps in towards my trailer, you can see there's no blind spot by the way we have it setup. But right here is the view you get with just you factory mirror. The mirror itself can be rotated 360 degrees so if you like that horizontal position for a different view, you have that option. It can also be adjusted to most angles. Got our up and down, diagonal, and side to side. Here you can see that the four tabs are not gonna come in contact with our factory mirror, and we can even still fold it in.Here on the backside, it uses two adjustable rubber straps to hold it in place around that housing.

The nice thing about them being rubber is you're not gonna have to worry about them harming or scratching that finish. Here you can see the one strap only covers up a portion of our turn signal, so we're still gonna be able to utilize that.A couple great things about this towing mirror are is for one, it's for temporary use, so we can take it off when we're done towing. Another great thing is since it is universal, if we have any other trucks or SUVs in the household, it's probably gonna work with those as well. Now we'll show you how easy it is to get installed. So, I'm here on the driver's side of my MDX. Let's go ahead and set our mirror in place.

Now, what we wanna do is we wanna make sure that the four tabs sit on the inside of the housing, just like this. Now, I've just got mine centered up with my mirror. Let's run our straps on the backside. Now, when we run our straps, we wanna make sure that there's a little bit of tension on them already. That way, when we hook them in place, it holds the mirror in place.

So, we'll stretch it up over the backside, and connect it to that top hook. We can simply repeat the same process with our second strap. We can adjust our straps how we want, and then we can repeat the same process on the opposite side, if we brought the pair, and then we're ready to tow.And that's gonna complete our test fit on the Cipa Clip-on Towing Mirror on our 2013 Acura MDX.
