How to Install a Bestop Element Front Doors on a 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

. with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Best Top Element Front Doors for your Jeep Wrangler. These doors are going to work from 2007 to 2017 Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and 2018 Jeep JK Wrangler and Jeep JK Wrangler Unlimited. What these doors are going to do for you is you can see they're going to add a nice touch to the vehicle. Second, they have an open air flow. It can allow a lot of fresh air to come inside the vehicle while giving you the comfort and safety of knowing you have a door still in place.

It's going to be a black powder coated, 1 1/4 inch steel construction. Each door is gonna come with its own lock and key. It's going to have pre-drilled holes right in the top that allow you to use the top half of you soft doors. They'll slide right into place right on top here in case you get stuck out in the rain. One of the things that I really like about these doors is it's gonna allow you to use your factory mirrors off your factory doors. Unlike some of the other doors out there you would have to buy this extra piece here that has a separate mount on it for mirrors.

This, your mirror mounts right into place. Not only do these doors work great for allowing fresh air inside of the vehicle, but they're also going to work great for off road applications. Say like rock climbing. These are going to help protect the driver and passenger in case of the vehicle rolls onto it's side. It's gonna keep that big roc from coming inside causing injuries.

A great addition to front half doors would be rear half doors. Not only is it gonna help protect those rear passengers, but it's also going to open up the whole vehicle for total fresh air.Now that we've gone over some of the features let's show you how to get them installed. First thing we need to do is we need to remove our factory doors. Take a T45 Torx Bit and we need to take the two nuts off the bottom of our hinges. Next we're going to remove our factory mirrors 'cause we're going to be installing them on the new doors.

Take a T40 Torx Bit, we have two bolts here on the inside. And then we'll just slide it out. You're gonna follow the wire up underneath the dash. You're going to have a red tab. Push that over. And then you're going to push from the bottom and unplug it. And we need to remove our strap from our inside hook. Now all we're going to do is we're going to put some upward pressure on it while we're going back and forth and our pins are going to slide out of our inside hinges here. And then we'll set our door in a safe place. Now we'll take our new Best Top Door. I'm just going to line up our pins with our factory hinges and it'll go right into place. Take our mirror, slide it into the holes on the door. We're going to have a little cap. Looks like this. We're going to line up the two holes to the two holes on our mirror. And our kit's gonna come with two new bolts to install. And we'll take a five millimeter Allen wrench, tighten them into place.Next we'll install the handle. You're going to have a plate for each door that looks like this. You notice on the end its got some little grooves. On the back of your handle there's some little rivets. You want to make sure that those are going to go over those rivets or else this plate will not go flat up against the door. We're going to take this in. We're going to slide it in just like this and then our plate inside in on the backside. You're going to have four little Phillips head screws with nylon lock nuts to hold it in place. Now what I suggest doing before you tighten these down, go ahead, pull your handle and close the door. What that's going to do is that's going to adjust this up or down and you can adjust it forward or backward depending on where your striker pin is. Take Phillips screwdriver, 3/8 socket or wrench and we'll tighten our handle in place. Last thing we're gonna do is install our strap. It's gonna keep our door from swinging open onto our fender or mirror hitting the top of our vehicle. Now you're going to repeat that process on the other side. That's going to complete our look at an installation on the Best Top Element Front Doors.
