How to Install the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount on a 2014 Ram 2500

Today, on our 2014 Ram 2500 series crew cab, we'll be doing a test for the B-and-W tow-and-stow 3-ball mount for 2-1/2 inch hitches. It has a 7-1/2 inch drop or rise, rated to 14,500 pounds, part number BWTS20049B. It's very easy to install. You'll just need to provide your own pin and clip. We'll insert our shank into our receiver. We'll line up our pin holes.

If you don't have one, you can find one on our website at part number PC3. Put our clip into place. It's in stow position here. To get ready to tow, we can go ahead and pull out our two clips on the other end and our two pins. We'll drop it all the way down, roll it around, and we'll decide our ball height depending on what we're towing.

We'll reinsert the two pins and the clips. Then we'll select our ball size. We can do that by pulling the clip out here and the pin out here, rotating it around to our desired ball. Once we've picked the one we want, we'll reinsert our pin and our clip, and we've got it. Now we'll go over some measurements on how it interacts with your Ram. First, I'd like to point out that it has two hitch-pin holes.

The closest one to the center of the ball is 9-3/8 of an inch, and the furthest one to the center of the ball is 10-1/2 inches. In the lowest position, with the largest ball facing down, we've got a ground clearance of about 10-3/4 of an inch. Keep in mind, this could vary depending on your tire size and your suspension. With it in the rise position and the largest ball all the way down, we've got about 18-3/4 of an inch. With it in the rise position and the ball at the highest point, our ball height is about 33-1/2 inches.

It's adjustable at 1-3/8 inch increments. In the drop position with it all the way down, we have a ball height of 18-3/4 of an inch. It's still adjustable at 1-3/8 inch increments. Using the furthest pin hole, we've added about 9 inches to the back of our Ram. With it in stow position, we've only added about 3-3/8 of an inch. Our ground clearance in the stow position is about 12-3/4 of an inch. Once again, keep in mind all these measurements may vary depending on your tire size and your suspension. That's going to complete our test fit of the B-and-W tow-and-stow 3-ball mount for 2-1/2 inch hitches with a 7-1/2 inch drop or rise, rated at 14,500 pounds, part number BWTS20049B on our 2014 Ram 2500 series crew cab. .
