Best 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Front Hitch Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best front hitch options for your 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. Up top we've got the Curt Part# C31071. Then on the bottom we've got the Draw Type Part# 65078. The biggest difference that we're going to see between these two hitches, is going to be one mounted on the truck where the receiver tube is going to be located. On the Draw Type it's going to give us a higher ground clearance. It's going to come further out towards the front of the bumper. It's going to give us more clearance with out accessories away from that front bumper. We've got a Curt mounted on this truck here.

As you can see it comes out nicely underneath the fascia, to where it's tucked up tight. The Draw Type would come out up here right about the center of the license plate bracket. If you do have a license plate on the front of your truck it would need to be relocated. There are a couple of different options. You can get the Draw Type Fix Bracket Part# 5443 or the Draw Type Fold Down License Plate Bracket Part# 8802. There's going to be benefits to each hitch because of where they come out. The clearance that they give us depending on the accessories that you're going to be using. For example, with the Curt it's going to be good for use with things like hitch mounted snow plows.

The Draw Type might be better for things like cargo carriers or wenches to give you that extra ground clearance. The next difference that we're going to see is that the Draw Type has this extra half inch hole. That's going to be good for use with a J-Pin stabilization system which helps to eliminate some of the shake and play inside the receiver tube with the shank. Both of these hitches are going to feature a five hundred pound vertical limit which is going to be the tongue weight rating. There also both going to feature a five thousand pound gross trailer weight rating and a nine thousand pound max wench line pole. You will want to be sure to check to see that the front axle of your truck is rated for that type of weight. For a brief recap both of these hitches are going to feature the same weight ratings. When it comes to clearance the Draw Type is going to give us a little bit more ground and bumper clearance.

When it comes to use with a trailer both of these hitches are going to do really well. For recreational use both of these hitches will work very well depending on your accessory. If I was to buy one of these for my truck I would lean towards the Draw Type because it does give me more clearance. That way I don't run the risk of possibly getting this dug into the mud when I need more clearance underneath the truck. Hope this helps in the decision making process for a front hitch for your Chevrolet Silverado 3500.
