Best 2012 Volvo XC70 Hitch Options

Today we'll be taking a look at the best hitch options available for the 2012 Volvo XE70. First option available is going to be your Curt Class 2 receiver with the inch and quarter insert, part number C12066. Your second option is going to be your Hidden Hitch Class 3 receiver with a 2 by 2 inch receiver, and that's going to be part number 87674. Your third choice is going to be your Draw-Tite and that's going to be very similar to the Hidden Hitch above, and that's going to be part number 75916. The bottom one down here's going to be your Curt Class 3 with a 2 by 2 inch receiver, part number 13266. Your Curt Class 2 Receiver hitch with the inch and quarter by inch and a quarter inlet receiver tube here is going to have that nice square stock that's going to sit back behind the bumper so the only thing that you're going to see hanging down from the bottom side is going to be your inch a quarter receiver tube and that's going to be the same for all the other ones as well. The Class 2 Curt is going to have a 350lb tongue and a max trailer weight of 3,500lb. The other Curt on the bottom down here is going to also have a 350lb tongue weight and 3,500lb max trailer weight.

All these receivers are not suggested to use with weight distribution. The Draw-Tite and Hidden Hitch both have a 400lb tongue weight and a 4,000lb gross trailer weight. Now with your Class 2 receiver hitch, it's going to have that half inch pinhole that's going to go all the way through with no secondary hole. If you look down on the Draw-Tite and Hidden Hitch they're both going to be identical in the pinholes that they have drilled in through them. You're going to have that 5/8" pinhole as well as the J-hook stabilization hole, which is going to be right in front of it which is going to be another 1/2" pinhole. If you take a closer look at all three of your 2" receivers, they're all going to be identical except for the Curt on the bottom with the extra pinhole not being in it like you do with the Draw-Tite and the Hidden Hitch.

They're all going to have the same chain tie-downs on either side and the same tube design and backside. The Curt will have a little bit more square of an end, whereas the Hidden Hitch and the Draw-Tite are both going to have a rounded end to them. Now if you take a look at all your best hitch options, they're all going to be identical as far as the piece that's going to go behind the bumper. You're going to have you larger diameter stock that's going to go back behind as well as the same identical mounting hardware and brackets on all four. The only thing that's going to be different on them is going to be your drop-downs and your receiver tubes. That will completer our look at the best hitch options available for our 2012 Volvo XE70.
