Review of a SportRack EZ Hitch Bike Rack on a 2011 Subaru Legacy

Alright, today on this 2011 Subaru Legacy we are going to demonstrate the SportRack EZ hitch mounted platform style bike rack, part number A30901. Alright, the hitch on this vehicle is a 2 inch receiver hitch so we will be using the adapter bushing right here. This is our anti-rattle bolts that we are removing. We will go ahead and slide it into the hitch. Line it up with the hitch pin hole and reinstall the bolt. OK, we will tighten down the bolt and install the safety pin. 0:44

We will go ahead and cover some of the features of this bicycle rack. First off, the cradles for the wheels are adjustable left and right. And when you have them in the proper position, just tighten down the knobs. All you have to do is have them snug. There are also some hook and loop straps which also help act as a safety device to keep your bike in place. Alright, some of the features of this bicycle rack with this Subaru here is that the shank is raised so that way it keeps the bikes and the platform off of the ground a little bit higher than the bottom of the vehicle. And also the center support can move out of the way to help load the bikes and also help you get into the back of the vehicle if you need to. Now also the same thing applies to the arms that hold the bikes. Pull out the pin. Then you have easier access to the rear of your car. When you open the trunk, you have plenty of room between the vehicle and the rack. 1:53

We will go ahead and put on a bike and see how it looks on a typical application. OK, our bike is clamped down. We will go ahead and install the safety straps. Alright and there you have it for our review of part number A30901 on this 2011 Subaru Legacy.
