How to Install a Trailer Hitch on a 2008 Kia Sedona

Today on this 2008 Kia Sedona we are going to install part number 70761 from Hidden Hitch. This will also apply to part number 75421 from Draw-Tite. The first thing we need to do is lower the exhaust and get it out of the way. To lower the exhaust we are going to remove these two bolts on this hanger. Next we will move up towards the front of the vehicle and remove the two rubber hangers for the muffler. :34

Then we are going to spray some lubricant on those to make it easier to remove. The next thing we are going to do is start cleaning out the holes in the frame to install our hitch. The first thing we are going to do is use a 1/2inch drill bit and get that undercoating out of it. Then use some lubricant to help clean it out. Next take a hitch bolt and get it started into the frame. Try and get it started, and then run it in a little bit with a wrench and then back it out. Continue the process on the remaining five holes on the frame. 1:14

With all the threads cleaned out we can start installing the hitch. It is a good idea to have an extra set of hands to help hold it up while you put it up and position and start the first couple bolts. Our driver side is done, lets go to the passenger side and do the same thing over there. Once we have everything started we can snug down the bolts and then torque them down as specified in the instructions. At this point we can go ahead and reinstall the exhaust. Now that we have the vehicle off the lift, we will give you a couple measurements to help you some hitch accessories for your vehicle. First off, from the top of the receiver tube to the ground on this particular vehicle is 11-3/8 inches. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer edge of the bumper is 6 inches. That will finish it fro part number 70761 from Hidden Hitch on this 2008 Kia Sedona.
