Review of etrailer Trailer Jack MJSQ-2500B

Today we are going to be looking at a square jack that comes with a footplate and a drop-leg. This marine jack is going to let you raise or lower your boat or recreational trailer. It's going to feature a lift capacity of 2500 pounds. It is a bolt on installation with the included brackets and hardware. It's also going to feature a side-wined handle, it makes it really easy to raise and lower the jack. It's got nice smooth operation; I don't feel any kinking or binding. The handle radius measuring from the center of where the handle mounts to the outer edge of the hand-grip is going to measure about 7 and 7/8 of an inch.

The jack is made from a steel construction, and it's a square design. The outer tube, this is going to give us a width measurement of 2 and 1/4 inches. The inner tube is going to give us a width of 2 inches. The jack also features a clear zinc finish which is highly resistant towards rust and corrosion, and again, it does come with a drop-leg as well as a foot-plate. The footplate is welded to the bottom of the drop-leg. The footplates going to give us a width measurement of 3 and 3/4's, a length measurement of 7 and 1/2 inches, so it's a really nice design.

It's going to do a great job at spreading out the applied weight especially on softer ground to help prevent sinking. It also helps to increase over all stability, the drop-leg does come with a pin and clip that way you can hold it in position to whatever position you want to have the drop-leg extended or retracted at. I'm going to show you the drop leg. 00:01:45. This drop-leg features a five hole design, it's going to offer and additional travel of 13 and 1/2 inches. That's measuring from the center of outer hole to center of outer hole, 13 and 1/2 inches, and can be adjusted in increments of about 3 and 3/8's of an inch. Here on the inner-tube, you're going to notice a hole on each side; that way you can change the drop-leg to change the direction you want the footplate to be facing.

. Maintenance is going to be pretty easy with this jack. Located right here is going to be a built in zerk fitting so that way all you have to do is attach a grease gun, and you can pump in your grease to lubricate the internal components. This is designed to fit around trailer frames that have a frame height up to 5 inches, the trailer frame width must not exceed 3 inches wide. If we take a look at the mounting bracket dimensions, we are going to measure from outer edge to outer edge. .. Going this direction we're looking at 6 and 1/2 inches; top to bottom we are looking at 6 and 1/12 inches.

Now the bracket height with the jack in the fully retracted position, measuring from the bottom of the foot-plate to the center of the bracket, it's going to be about 7 and 1/4 inches. With that extended it increases to about 22 and 3/8 of an inch. The jack height, with it in the fully retracted position, that's going to measure about 24 and 3/4 of an inch. With the jack all the way extended it increases to 40 and 1/8 inches, so this jack is going to offer a travel of 15 and 3/8 of an inch, and then again the drop-leg is going to offer an additional 13 and 1/2 inches of travel. The clearance that we have from the center of the bracket to the top of the jack, that's going to give us a measurement of about 17 and 1/2 inches. That's going to do it for today's look at the square jack with the included foot-plate and drop-leg. Again it's going to have a lift capacity of 2500 pounds.
