Jeff: Hello, everybody! This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this pre-greased trailer idler hub for 7,000 pound E-Z Lube axles. It has an eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern. Now, this trailer hub assembly is designed to fit E-Z Lube idler axles. It is a pre-greased hub. It's very easy to install. There's no need to have to pack the bearings with grease.
It'll come already greased with lithium complex multipurpose grease. It will include the pre-greased inner bearing, which is part number 25580, and the bearing race that it rides in. It will also include the outer bearing, part number 14125A. And again, the bearing race that it rides in is all pre-installed. It does also include the installed grease seal in the back here.
It's part number GS2250DL.If you notice, I laid out the other pieces it comes with. It comes with two types of caps. It comes with the standard cap, and then of course the E-Z Lube cap is what you'll want to use. It also has eight of the half-inch by twenty size lug nuts. Now, this hub assembly will fit E-Z Lube trailer axles, and the E-Z Lube trailer axles are the ones that have the greased Zerk fitting that's on the end of the spindle. That allows you to grease the bearings without having to remove this compete hub assembly from the axle.
That's why you'll want to use this E-Z Lube compatible grease cap that installs right there. The reason is you can pop out this center rubber plug, just like that. It allows you to put a grease skin onto that greased Zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and allows you to lubricate the bearings very fast and easy. So, there's no need to have to take the whole hub off the axle. Now, this is a sturdy iron construction. It has a zinc-enriched paint for durability.
It is QAI and CSA certified. Specs, again, for this hub is 7,000 pound E-Z Lube trailer axles with the number 42 spindles, and it is compatible with standard axles from most manufacturers, including AxleTech, Dexter, Lippert, and Alco. The hub diameter, from one end to the other, is eight and three-quarter inches. It is designed to work with sixteen to seventeen and a half inch wheels. Bolt pattern, we mentioned, is eight on six and a half inches, and the wheel stud diameter is half an inch. So, you'll be able to use your half-inch lug nuts to hold your tire and wheel assembly to the hub.But that should do it for the review on the pre-greased trailer idler hub for 7,000 pound E-Z Lube axles, with the eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern..
