Today, we're going to take a look at the galvanized trailer idler hub assembly for 2,000-lb E-Z Lube axles with the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. This is a marine-grade trailer hub assembly that fits the E-Z Lube idler axles. Now, the E-Z Lube axles, they are the one that have the greased Zerk fitting on the end of the spindle. That allows you to grease the bearings with out having to remove the complete hub assembly from the axle. This idler hub assembly includes everything shown here. It includes the bearing races, which are already pre-installed, the outer bearing race, and there's the inner bearing race. It includes both inner and outer bearings, grease seal, the grease cap, the E-Z Lube greased cap with the rubber plug, and then the 5 1/2" lug nuts. The nice thing on this model is the E-Z Lube compatible grease cap which makes lubricating your bearings very fast and easy.

Basically, once this is popped in and installed on there all you have to do if you need to add grease to your bearings is just pull out the black rubber plug and that will give you access to that Zerk fitting that's on the end of the spindle. Put your grease gun on there and put more grease in there. There is no need to disassemble the whole hub assembly off your axle. It's a pretty nice feature to have. Now, this hub assembly itself is a sturdy arrant 00:01:12 construction. Has a nice galvanized finish on it and this offers excellent corrosion resistance.

It's ideal for use on marine applications like on a boat or personal watercraft trailer or even on a snowmobile trailer. It is certified by USSAE standards and CSA, which is the Canadian standards. Application for this is 2,000-lb E-Z Lube trailer axles with the BT8 spindles. It is compatible with axles from most manufacturers like Dexter, Lippert, and Alco. Bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2".

The wheel size that would fit on this is 13" up to 15". The weight capacity is 1,000-lbs per hub. So, when you have one on each side that gives you your 2,000-lb maximum. Some information on all these parts that are included. The bearings for this, it uses the same inner and outer bearing part number which is the L44649. It has a 1.063 inner diameter.

So, if we put that as the inner bearing you'll drop that into the inner bearing race like that. Your grease seal, which has an overall diameter of 1.983, that would tap right in there just like that. Now the outer bearing, again, which is the same part number L44649 has inner diameter of 1.063. That will go right on the outer bearing race like that and then your zinc-plated E-Z Lube grease cap with the rubber plug, flange diameter is 1.99". That would tap right on just like that. Now for this video just to demonstrate where the parts go I just want you to know, of course, that you do need to pack the bearing with grease before you install them. I'm just showing you where they go so you are going to make sure that they are packed with grease and then as you go just to add grease you just use your E-Z Lube fitting to do that. It does include the 5 1/2" by 20 size lug nuts. Those are used to hold your wheel and tire assembly to the hub. So once you put your wheel up on your studs, put your nuts on and just tighten those down or torque them down to the correct specs for your application. But that should do it for the review of the galvanized trailer idler hub assembly for 2,000-lb E-Z Lube axles with the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern.
