Way Interglobal RV Stoves and Ovens - Outdoor Cast Iron Griddle - WAY54FR Review

Ellen: Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to take a quick look at the Greystone RV outdoor griddle. This gives you a cooktop to use outdoors while you're enjoying your camping trip or just enjoy your RV life. The thing that I like about this griddle top is that we have these nice tall raised edges for the back and side so we don't have to worry about the food sliding off while we're cooking. Gives a really nice cast iron surface to cook on so it should last for a long time. It's a good idea to season this before you actually get cooking just like you would a cast iron pan.

Use a little oil, spread it around the whole surface, get it up to smoke temp, let it cook there, and kind of polymerize or sort of coat that metal surface and bond to the metal.Let it cool. Do that a couple of times and that'll season that metal. That makes it a nonstick surface. Also helps protect it from any kind of oxidation or rusting out on you. So very important to do that before you get to cooking.

Also not a bad idea to clean it before you start that seasoning process as well. So let's take a closer look, talk about how this is going to work, some of the features to make sure that this is the right fit for you. So you can see, again, we have that nice surface up at the top. There is a little spot here. This is going to go into our grease cup.

So as you're cooking, you can kind of slide everything over, clean it off by going down into that little spot, and then you can clean out the grease cup by just removing it there, dumping it out, cleaning it out as you need to.There's also another pan at the very bottom to also kind of protect from anything getting up in there or falling down so it kind of protects whatever surface you have this set on. Of course you do want to have this put on a surface that is not going to be damaged by any kind of heat. So it needs to be a stable surface or place that where you're using this. You don't want to put it on anything flammable and you want to also give yourself plenty of room around it. They suggest about three feet from the rear and sides between anything that is combustible.

So you just want to give it some room to work.As far as turning it on, we have this big knob on the front. So to light it, you'll press in, that'll start the gas flowing, turn it counterclockwise. You'll hear that spark or that kind of snap. That's going to be the sparker. And then from there, you should be at high heat and you can adjust the flame as you need it to down to low. Whenever it's time to turn it off, same thing, bring it up to high, push in, and that'll turn everything off. So pretty simple. It does have a nice quick disconnect connection at the back to connect up to your propane. So can just use those quick connectors to make that a pretty easy on/off or install and uninstall. As far as the specs with this, it does have a BTU rating of 12,000 BTUs per hour. The inlet gas pressure is 13 inches WC max. The overall width with that griddle top in place is about 17 and three quarter inches. And then about eight and five eighths inches tall. Swing that over to the side. Seems to be a little bit better. Eight and five eights inches. And then front to back, if we go from the knob to our gas fitting it's about 19 and a half inches. That's pretty much all there is to it for our look at the Greystone outdoor RV griddle. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is going to be the right piece for you. I think it's going to make a great addition to any kind of camping trip or RV lifestyle. If you need any other accessories, we do have a lot of options available here at etrailer.com.
