TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs - Talon Frame Mounted Aluminum Rear Tie Downs - TLF3008A Review

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at these TorkLift Talon custom frame-mounted aluminum rear camper tie-downs. These tie-downs are going to give you the attachment points at the rear of your truck bed for securing a bed-mounted camper. Now as I mentioned, these are custom made and so these will fit your 2019 to 2022 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty with the 6 3/4 foot bed with board or step underneath the truck bed and with a factory-installed hitch. And then the 2017 to 2022 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty with a 6 3/4 foot bed without board or step underneath the truck bed and with a factory installed hitch. And then finally, the 2017 to 2022 Ford F-250, F-350, and F-450 Super Duty eight-foot bed with or without the board or step underneath the truck bed and with the factory installed hitch. Now the frame-mounted design of these tie-downs are going to ensure excellent handling because securing your camper to your truck's base instead of its bed is going to better distribute the weight to keep your setup from being too top heavy.

These brackets are gonna fit tight to your truck frame so there will not be any loss of ground clearance. And these rustproof and lightweight aluminum alloy tie-down inserts are going to secure to the durable stainless steel receiver brackets. Now these inserts can be easily removed and I'm gonna give you an overhead look here so hopefully you can see it a little bit better. You just remove the included bail pins here, as you can see. And these are going to easily slide out of the receiver bracket.

And as I mentioned, these inserts are aluminum alloy so they're very lightweight, yet durable and it's not gonna be any trouble at all to get these out and maybe put 'em in the back of the cab of your truck. And then when you need 'em, you can just slide them back in. I did want to give you another closeup view here and show you that TorkLift provides what they call a finishing kit. You're going to get foam plugs to insert into the rear of the brackets and that's going to help keep out dirt and grime. Then you also have these vinyl caps that's going to give a nice finished look to the front of the receiver bracket and it's also going to keep it clean as well.

So as you can see, it's a tight fit. You gotta kinda work it on there a little bit. And so I've got it on and so it's going to keep it clean and give it a nice finished look. So that's a nice touch that these are included with this. And so I also wanted to point out we've got two different holes on our aluminum alloy inserts that those pins are gonna go through.

So if your camper is a bit wider, you would use the first hole on the insert to have the tie-down stick out a little bit farther, and then if your camper is a little bit narrower, you can move it into that second hole. So I'm gonna go ahead and put my insert back in, line up my holes here and then secure it with the bail pins and we are good to go. Now these tie-downs also feature a high impact powder coat finish and that's just going to add an extra layer of protection to the brackets. And I wanna give you another overhead view just so you can see everything that this comes with. You're going to get the two rear tie-down inserts, the frame brackets, the necessary hardware, and I just wanted you to have a good look at that to successfully install these. And then instruction manual to walk you through step-by-step through the installation process. And again, these vinyl caps and the foam blocks and again these are rear tie-downs, but if you are looking for front ones as well, just take a look at our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer.com. Insert the year, make and model of your vehicle and our fit guide will give you the appropriate front camper tie-downs that will work for your vehicle and that will pair nicely with these rear camper tie-downs. These are made here in the U.S.A and that's going to conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
