TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs - Rear Tie-Downs - TLC3220 Review

etrailer.com: Today we going to take a look at the Torklift Custom Rear Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs.Now, these are a custom-fit part. They are designed to fit the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks, with either the 5-1/2 ft bed or the 6-1/2 ft bed, without the board/the step that's underneath the truck bed and with the factory installed hitch. Now, on a custom-fit part like this, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this'll work for your application. Now, these tie-downs is what will provide the attachment points at the rear of your truck for securing your Bed Mounted Camper to your vehicle. This will let you feel dramatic improvement with the vehicle handling and stability, and it is the safest way to haul a truck camper. Prevents any vehicle swaying, camper movement in all directions. Now this will allow you to haul your truck camper confidently by attaching your tie-downs to the strongest part of the truck, which is the frame. The vehicle manufacturer does recommend that all full heights sliding camper bodies should be directly attached to the vehicle frame structure.

The frame mounted design ensures excellent handling by securing the camper to the truck's base instead of its bed, which will better distribute the weight to help keep your setup from being too top-heavy. It'll also help avoid any bed or bumper damage that's common with other tie-down systems. This is a fast no-drill installation securing your truck camper to your truck. You can maintain the value of your truck and prevent rust and bed damage by avoiding drilling into your truck bed or bumper. As I mentioned, it is custom-fit for your vehicle.

The brackets fit tight to the truck frame, so there's no loss of any ground clearance. Perfect for any off-road truck camping. When they're not being used, you can take out these inserts and they're virtually undetectable. All this is underneath the truck, you can't even see it. The hidden design of the brackets will return it to your original look. Also, on the inserts themselves...

Basically, the inserts if you take your snapper pin out. This is the insert that goes in here. This is all mounted onto your truck bed. You can't even see it. Then this insert...

This is where your turnbuckles will attach to. If you notice on the insert, there's two holes at different lengths, and this'll allow you to connect your turnbuckles and not interfere with anything on your vehicle. So, in other words, when you go to insert this, you can either put it in the first hole and that'll let it stick out a little bit further, or you can bring it down to the second hole and that'll bring it closer to the truck. Then once you find the right position, then you just snap the pin in and it will hold it into place, and your turnbuckles will attach right to there. Now, these are driver's side and passenger side brackets. When you do put your insert on, you do want to make sure that the shorter side - this part right here - will always face the rear truck. So, this being on the driver's side, that'll face through the truck. When you mount this on the passenger side, that'll face the rear of the truck. These are steel construction. They have a nice black powder coat finish for durability. It does include everything shown here: the two rear tie-down inserts, the two frame brackets, all the necessary hardware. Now, we've bolted these together just to show what they look like when they're installed, so all that hardware comes with it. Nice set of detailed instructions on how everything's put together and how it operates. They even have a couple of stickers that you can attach to the inserts to show you passenger's rear, driver's rear, to know which inserts what. These parts are made in the U.S.A.But that should do it for the review on the Torklift Custom Rear Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs..
