Review of Thule Bike Accessories TH100090

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Thule Pack 'n Pedal Tour Rack. This versatile rack lets you carry cargo over the front or rear while of your bike. It comes with brackets, tools, and the necessary hardware for either application. Right now, I have the medium size brackets installed just to give you an example, but it comes with shorter and longer brackets. Again, depending on your bike frame, your slant, or depending on whether you install this on the front or rear of the bike. It's a really nice design.

It comes with detailed installation instructions to walk you through that process step by step. The rack remains secure under heavy loads.Right here at the attachment points it's going to feature a strap attachment design. So it does not actually go into the frame of your bike, it wraps around the framing of your bike, but I do want to point out that on that strap it's going to feature the rubberized grip. These really do a great job at getting a secured grip and prevent sliding, which is going to protect the finishing on your bike as well as the overall frame and structure of the bicycle. Installation and removal is easy with the convenient access to the mounting system.

You will need to use the included tools to tighten and loosen the straps that attach to the frame of the bike. You'll notice that it comes with a unique tool right here. This tool goes into this slot, and then you rotate that. As you do that, it loosens up the strap so you can get all the slack you need. Then you wrap the strap around the framing of your bike, take the larger Allen tool, and you place it into this slot right here. Then it's got an arrow on it to show you which way to turn.

Then as you do, you can hear it click, which is like a ratcheting motion. Every time it clicks, it's securing in that spot, and it's tightening the strap around the frame of the bike. Really nice, secure way to get it installed. Overall just a really neat unit. This will work with tire clearances up to 29 inches by 2.5 inches wide. It does feature an integrated light or reflector mount.

That's this portion right here. That way you can add a light or reflector to the unit to increase your visibility. When mounted at the rear you don't have to worry about heel clearance because the unit really features the nice adjustable deck and rails, so you don't have to worry about heel clearance when pedaling thanks to those components and features of the rack. It's covered with a limited lifetime warranty. This platform measures 5 inches wide by 14 inches long. When using this at the front of the bike, you're going to have a 22 pound capacity. When using it at the rear, you're going to have a 25 pound capacity. The rack itself weighs less than 2.5 pounds. That's going to do it for today's look at the Thule Pack 'n Pedal Tour Rack.
