Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Thule RideAlong child bike seat. This bike seat is going to mount onto the frame of your bicycle. So it's going to allow you to take your little one with you on your bike rides, so you can both enjoy being outdoors together. This bike seat is designed for your children who are ages nine months up to six years in age or up to 48.5 pounds.
This does adjust with your child so that Thule grow. Obviously, kids grow pretty fast, so you want to have something that's going to grow with your child, so you're not having to replace it every year. So you can see up here, our shoulder straps are adjustable, just pull out on that latch there, and we can raise and lower those as needed. And they will lock into place when we have them, where we need them. Likewise, our feet can raise and lower so that if we start out with little short legs, as those legs get longer, we can adjust those so that they'll always be comfortable and where they need to be. This is going to work with just about every style of bicycle out there, whether you have a mountain bike or a road bike, or a hybrid, or even a women's bike.
It's going to work with either the round or oval kind of bars, as long as those have a diameter, no greater than an inch and a half. So it's going to work with just about every bike style out there, as long as you have those inch and a half or less bars. It's going to mount with this quick-release bracket here, it's going to make it very easy for you to take the bike seat off your bike so that you can store it when you're not riding. Or if you want, you can get two of these brackets, so you can put one on each bike, so you or your spouse can switch back and forth, who's carrying the little one with you can share the load while you're out on your bike ride. It's very easy to get this connected and disconnected, there's this little blue tab here that you pull out on and that will allow the bike seat to come free.So this can stay mounted onto your bike, and then you just put the seat in place when you want it. They do have the Thule one-lock system, so if you do have multiple brackets, you can get it, so that it's just the same key for both, so you don't have to keep track of a bunch of different keys.
And that Thule one-lock system will work with any of your other Thule items as well. So if you have a roof box cargo carrier or something like that, you can get it so that all those keys are the same. But that is a good idea, I like that option to be able to share the load or if the bike seat is on one bike primarily but you want to take another bike out, very easy to get it switched if you have that second bracket system in place. Now, when you're looking for a bike seat, obviously the most important thing for you is going to be the safety of your child. So there are a lot of different safety options here, we do have our shoulder brackets that hold our child in place to make sure that if the bike we're to turn over or something, we could catch the bike, the child would be a safe in there. This does have the locking bracket there, so that very easy to get them in and out of the seat, but they will be locked in place to keep them safe.
We also have the foot straps here on the sides, that will make sure that their little feet aren't wondering about, potentially getting stuck in spokes or anything like that. Likewise, we also have the leg guards here to make sure that their little legs are going to stay away from those spokes, so they're not getting pinched or otherwise injured. So lots of different safety options for your little one, but then on the backside here, we also have a built-in reflector. So as we're riding our bike, if motorists are coming up behind us, just gives a little extra visibility there. So that's a safety feature for both you and your little one, just giving you extra visibility. So safety features, got a lot of nice ones there. One I forgot to mention is, you can see these little wings on the sides here, this just a little extra space. So if you we're to lean your bike up against a wall or something like that, that's going to help prevent your little ones from getting their fingers or hands or arms pinched up on the side here. It's just going to give them a little extra space, a little extra clearance there. So the second most important thing for you, after your safety is probably going to be the comfort. Making sure that your little one is going to enjoy the ride, is going to make you enjoy the ride a lot more. The longer they can stay happy, the longer you can be out on your bikes. So this does have the padded shoulder pads here, shoulder straps, so that those are going to be very comfortable on them. The seat does recline, it's got a little tab here so that you can pull that back. You should be able to do it with one hand once this is mounted on the bike. So that's a little extra convenience for you as the parent. Does have several different positions that it can recline to, so this is going to be really nice not only to help them feel more relaxed as you're out, but if they do fall asleep, they're not going to be sitting upright where they'll their head will bob, so it'll put them in a much better position to enjoy the ride.In addition to all of that, we do have the padded seat cover here. And so this is going to help make it more comfortable for them to sit in the seat. This is nice, in that, it can be removed, so if it gets dirty or something like that, it's very easy to take out and wash. It's also two-sided, so depending on if you want the dark gray color or this a fuchsia type color, you can reverse it on either side, so very easy to take care of, keep everything clean, and it's only about 10 pounds. So it's not going to be very heavy, very easy to take off and put on your bike. And it does come with a five-year warranty. So if you we're to have any problems with it, you could give us a call, we'd help you out with that. But overall, I think this is going to be a really nice a bike seat for your little one, help them come along on your bike trips. That way you can be outside, you don't have to worry about them, they're right there with you and they can enjoy the ride as well. So that's going to complete our look for today.
