Tekonsha Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring - Trailer Hitch Wiring - 118804 Review

Today we're going to take a look at the T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with this four way flat trailer connector. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2019 and newer Acura RDX vehicles. And on a custom fit part like this, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, putting your year and model vehicle. And it'll show you if this will work for application. Now, this harness will provide a four-way flat trailer connector to back your vehicle, to power your trailer's signal lights.

This is compatible with the five pole, six pole and seven pole adapters, that we do sell separately on our website. And this does connect very quickly and easily. All you have to do is locate the connection point that's in the rear cargo area. Plug in this eight pin connector, ground the white wire, and then run this power wire to your vehicle's battery. Now it does include this black box here, which is a ModuLite. And this is to ensure that your vehicles wiring will match that of your trailer.

It is a power module. So it does connect directly to your vehicle's battery to avoid overloading the vehicle's electrical system. The wire that comes out that the four-way is attached to this is a 16 gauge bonded wire. And if you notice on the four way itself has this integrated dust cap, that when you're not plugged into your trailer, you can put it over the terminal, protects it from any damage or from the elements. Few specs on this wiring harness, the maximum amperage, the stop and turn light circuits is five amps per circuit.

And the tail lights is 7.5 amps per circuit. And basically everything I laid out here on the tables, what she'll use to install it. And I'll just briefly go through it.It does come with a nice set of detailed instructions. That'll describe how to install it and even give you pictures of where your point connection points are. But basically again, what you'll do is locate the connection point.

You'll go to your rear cargo area and the eight pin connector that this plugs into this is located behind the rear interior trim panel. You'll plug that in, with that plugged in. What you want to do, is this ModuLite box is a little heavy, so you don't want it bouncing around. So you want to attach that to a good flat surface. There's a tab on here with a hole that you could put a screw in there if you want. They do include a piece of double face tape you can use to attach it down. And then the remaining two wires is a white wire and a black wire. The white wire with the eyelid is for your ground. There's a nearby ground. You can attach that to it. If you don't have one nearby, you can make your own ground by using the included grounding screw, and then attach the wire. And then the remaining black wire needs to run to your vehicle's battery at the front of the vehicle. So they do give you this length of wire to do that and the connector. So what you'll do is take a butt connector, put it on your power wire and then connect it to one end of this wire and then run your length of wire up to the front. And when you get to the front, you don't want to connect this wire directly to the battery. You want to run it through this inline fuse holder. So you'll take the other butt connector, install it. And then install it to one side of the fuse holder, just like that. Once that's installed on the other side of the fuse holder, you'll take this islet connector they include, attach it and then attach it to the battery. After that, just pop open your fuse holder, take your included 15 amp fuse, insert it into the fuse holder, but the cap over that, and now your systems all ready to go. And if you'll notice, they'll give you some extra cable ties to take up any Slack in the wiring, but that should do it for the review on the T1 vehicle wiring harness with the four way flat trailer connector..
