Today, we're going to take a look at the T1 vehicle wiring harness with the four-way flat trailer connector. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2008 and newer Toyota Highlander vehicles. And on a custom fit part like this, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this part will work for your application. Now this will provide this four-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. And it is compatible with five-pole, six-pole and seven-pole adapters that we do sell separately.
This does connect very quickly and easily. There's no cutting or splicing of wires. Basically it includes this 10-pin tow plug right here, and this will plug into the 10-pin connector that's on your vehicle. Now the differences on the 2008 to 2013 vehicles that connector is located under the dash on the driver's side, by the emergency brake. And on the 2014 and newer vehicles, it's located in the rear cargo area driver's side. And then it also includes this four-pin tow plug adapter.
This will plug into a four-pin connector that's in the rear cargo area on the driver's side, and all the years will have it in the rear cargo area so this will be in the same place for all the years. And then the last thing you want to do is you'll open the hood and then you'll find the vehicle's fuse panel that's on the driver's side, and you need to install this mini 10-amp fuse into the towing fuse position. Now, this does include this ModuLite. This is the black box right here. And this is to ensure that your vehicle's wiring will match that of your trailer. This power module connects directly to your battery and that's to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system.
It does also include this hardware kit, has double face tape and cable ties in it. And the double faced tape is used to attach this ModuLite to the vehicle. This has a little weight to it, so you don't want it bouncing around. So if you use that double face tape, you can attach it down. Or if you prefer, there's a little tab here with a hole in it.
You could actually put a screw through there also. And then the cable ties are used to take up any slack in any of the wiring. Does come with a nice set of detailed instructions that will describe how to install everything and where your connections are. This is constructed of a 16-gauge bonded wire. Does come with a dust cover. You can see it's an integrated dust cover on the four-way. So when you're not plugged into a trailer, you can put that cover on there. That'll protect the terminals from any damage or from the elements. Few specs on this: the maximum amperage on the stop and turn light circuits is 2.1 amps per circuit, and on the tail lights is 5.6 amps per circuit. But that should do it for the review on the T1 vehicle wiring harness with the four-way flat trailer connector..
