Taskmaster Tires and Wheels - Tire with Wheel - AS15B45SMV Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Taskmaster ST205/75D15 bias trailer tire in a load range C on this 15-inch silver modular steel trailer wheel with the five on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now this tire wheel assembly is ideal for both trailers, stock trailers, utility trailers, and even campers. The wheel it's on is a steel wheel, has a modular design. When we say modular design, that's one that has the round holes all the way around. It's very study and corrosion-resistant. It does use an E-coat primer and a silver powder coat finish on the whole wheel to resist rust.It does use the bevel stud holes to help keep the wheel securely in place on your trailer hub. It helps eliminate the need for constant retightening of your lug nuts.

Now the tire that's mounted on this is a bias ply tire. It is constructed with strong nylon cords. It's great for off-road and agricultural use, and they do even offer the tread depth as far as in the grooves, like you'll see on passenger cars, where it'll give you a good visual indication of how the tread is wearing. Now this tire and wheel assembly does meet the DOT Department of Transportation specifications, and it does exceed your federal motor vehicle safety standards.A few specs on this. Let's start with the wheel. The diameter on the wheel is going to be 15 inches in diameter.

The width on just the wheel by itself is five inches. Bolt pattern on this wheel is a five on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern, and if you want to measure that on a wheel, that's an odd number of lugs. In this case, five. It's pretty easy. You just pick either, any one of the holes.

Let's say this one, and then you'll measure across to either one of these holes. You just pick one and when you measure it, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of the hole that you measure to. So on this one, if we measure it would be four and a half inches, or five lug 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. It does use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20.Now the weight capacity of just the wheel by itself is 2,160 pounds. Pilot hole diameter, which is the large hole in the center of the wheel, goes over the hub on your trailer, that diameter is 3.19 inches.

If we move on to the tire, the tire size will be written on the sidewall, ST for special trailer, 205/75D15. The D designation stands for diagonal belts, so that tells you that this is a bias ply tire. The section width on this tire is going to be right at eight inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated is 27.1. This tire is a load range C, which means it's a six-ply rated tire, so it does have a maximum load capacity of 1,820 pounds at 50 psi.And the last thing I want to mention to you, most all the new trailer tires are coming through with speed ratings on them now. Speed rating will always be stamped on the tire, and it's stamped with a letter designation. So on the tire right here, let's see if we can find it, if we go around the. Right here, it's stamped 101 for a load index and then the letter M, and it even says after the letter M that it's an 81 mile per hour speed rating. But that should do it for the review on the Taskmaster ST205/75D15 bias trailer tire in a load range C on the 15-inch silver modular steel trailer wheel, with the five on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern.
