Taskmaster Tires and Wheels - Tire with Wheel - A13RSMQ Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Taskmaster Provider, ST17580R13 radial trailer tire in a load range C on a 13 inch silver modular steel trailer wheel with the five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this tire and wheel assembly is ideal for boat trailers, stock trailers, utility trailers, and even campers. It has a nice steel wheel with the modular design. When we say modular design, that's the one that has the round holes all the way around the wheel. It's very sturdy and corrosion resistant. The wheel uses a e-coat primer and then a silver powder coat finish over it to help resist rust and corrosion.

They do use the beveled stud holes right here. Help keep the wheel securely in place on your trailer hub. Eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of your lug nuts. The tire that's mounted on this is a nice radial tire, it is constructed with double steel belts, double polyester cords for a long life. It's great for highway use. And they even use a nylon tread firming belt overlay to help prevent tread separation and the tire is bake tested to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

If you notice, it does have a nice automotive grade tread to it that has siping, the siping are the cuts in the tread. And what that does is that'll channel water away from underneath the tire to improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions. This is a special trailer tire design. It'll couple the strength of a bias tire with the durability and stability of a radial tire. It is created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on any other vehicles.

This assembly does come with a two year platinum plus warranty, which does include emergency tire change service and other benefits. This tire and wheel assembly will meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications. And it does exceed your federal motor vehicle safety standards.Few specs on this. We'll start with the wheel. The diameter on the wheel, which is always measured inside to inside, is 13 inches.

The width on just the wheel by itself is four and a half inches wide. Bolt pattern on this wheel is a five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. If you wanted to measure that bolt pattern, what you would do on a wheel that's an odd number of lugs, in this case five, pick any hole, let's say this one, and then you'll measure across to either one of these holes, you just pick one hole, But when you measure it, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of the hole that you measure to. So on this one if we measured it'd be four and a half inches. So five lug, four and a half inch bolt pattern. Does use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20. Weight capacity on just the wheel by itself is 1,660 pounds. And the pilot hole diameter, which is the large hole here in the center of the wheel, goes over the hub on your trailer. Diameter of that opening is 2.99 inches. Now the tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, ST for special trailer, 17580R13. The R means it's a radial tire. Section width is right at seven inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top is right at 24 inches. Now this tire is a load range C, which means it's a six ply rated tire. It does have a maximum load capacity of 1,360 pounds at 50 psi. And the last thing I do want to mention is most all the new trailer tires are coming through with a speed rating. And the speed rating is stamped on the tire. It's by a letter designation. And where you'll find that is right after the size we just went over. You'll see two numbers for a load index and then the letter M. Speed rating M will mean 81 mile per hour speed rating. But that should do it for the review on the Taskmaster Provider ST17580R13 radial trailer tire in the load range C on this 13 inch silver modular steel trailer wheel, with the five on four and a half inch bolt pattern.
