Shocker Hitch Clevis Hitch - XR Adjustable Clevis Mount 2-1/2" Shank 12K - SHK85ZR Review

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're taking a look at this Shocker XR adjustable clevis mount for a 2 1/2 inch shank. This is rated at 12,000 pound capacity. This solid, heavy-duty, channel style adjustable ball mount with clevis pin attachment has a 1 1/4 inch pin hole to accommodate a variety of equipment. So, this is gonna be perfect for towing tillage equipment, fertilizer spreaders, and other farm applications.

And as you can see here, there are two easy to remove pins. And these large rings are easy to grasp. I can fit up to four fingers in each of these rings. So, you're not gonna have any more fumbling with small hitch pin heads. And also included are these large safety clips that are going to make securing your pins and these clips effortless.

I'm gonna go ahead and remove these safety clips and these pins just to show you how easy it is to adjust this. By the way, these large rings can be folded in either direction to get out of your way if need be. So, let me go ahead and remove my pins. And I'm just going to adjust this a little bit higher. Line up the holes.

And there we go. Let me go ahead and secure that with these clips. Now, this is going to give you, with the hitch in this orientation, you're gonna have up to six inches of drop. And then when you flip this hitch over, you will get an inch and a half of rise with this. The inside channel width is sitting at 3 3/4 inches across.

And the distance between the two tangs, the inside distance is gonna be 3 3/4 inches. And then measuring outside the two tangs, we're gonna be sitting at 4 3/4 inches. And then the distance between these vertical adjustment holes are one inch in between each of those holes. Now, this is going to work with other Shocker Hitch mount, hitch ball mounts and attachments. Those attachments are sold separately, but you can find them on the related products section of this product page. This is made in the USA. And it is of a grade 50 steel plate construction, and the shank is a cold rolled steel shank. So, this is gonna provide maximum durability. It's also shot blasted and powder coated to prevent rust. Again, the gross towing weight on this is gonna be 12,000 pounds. The tongue weight is 1,200 pounds. This is gonna fit a 2 1/2 inch trailer hitch receiver. The hitch pin hole diameter is 5/8 of an inch. The pin and clips are sold separately or you could provide your own. However, I do recommend taking a look at the InfiniteRule locking pins for Shocker Hitch ball mounts. Those work with a two inch hitch or a 2 1/2 inch hitch. You will get three locking pins. One will secure your Shocker Hitch to your receiver hitch on the back of your vehicle. And then the other two will replace these pins to secure your attachment to your Shocker Hitch. You can find those pins on our website using item number IR39FR. Now, the distance between the first hitch pin hole to the center of the clevis pin hole is sitting right at 10 1/2 inches. Then moving down to the second hitch pin hole to the clevis pin hole, we're gonna be sitting at about 11 1/2 inches. Now, if you are also looking for a clevis pin to work with this clevis mount, I would recommend taking a look at CURT's clevis pin with handle and clip. That is made out of steel. And the measurement on that pin is 5 3/4 inches long by one inch in diameter. You can find that pin on our website using item number C45803. Well, that's gonna conclude our look today. I hope it was helpful. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..
