Shocker Hitch Clevis Hitch - Clevis Mount - SHK93RR Review

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Shocker Impact Cushioned Hitch with the clevis pin ball mount for 2 1/2 inch hitch receivers, has a 12,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now, this shock absorbing ball mount uses the bumper stop technology to reduce road shock and provide a more comfortable towing experience. This is designed to install into a 2 1/2 inch by 2 1/2 inch trailer hitch receiver. Now, it does have two hitch pin holes. Now, the hitch pin and clip is not included, you would have to supply that, or the hitch locks, we do sell both hitch pin and clips and hitch locks separately on our website that you could use on this, the hitch pin hole diameter is 5/8 of an inch.

Now, this channel mount design will pivot up against the dual bump stops here at the top to absorb the road shock, provide a nice smooth tow. What's nice is on the large pivot bolt right here that the channel mount pivots on, on the one side, they have this grease zerk fitting that's installed on the bolt, allows you to hook a grease gun to it and pump grease into the bolt to make for easy maintenance and lubrication of the pivot. This is a channel style mount, you can see it includes the clevis pin ball mount that has the two 1 1/4 inch diameter holes to accommodate a variety of towing needs. Now, the clevis pin that goes down through here is not included. Give you a few measurements of this.

The overall height of the two tangs here, from the very bottom to the very top, is gonna be right at 4 3/4 inches, the inside height from the inside here to the bottom here is gonna be right at 3 1/4 inches, and then the center, if we measure from the center of these two hitch pin holes, from the first one to the center of this clevis pin hole, is 11 inches, if we measure from the second one to the center of the clevis pin, is 12 inches. Now, it's perfect for use on farm equipment like wagons, cultivators, fertilizer spreaders, balers, augers, sprayers, and other agricultural related equipment, also trailers and more. This is a nice, solid, heavy-duty adjustable channel, you can see it'll provide seven holes with a range of adjustability to tow trailers of various heights. The distance between those adjustment holes is one inch, center to center. Now, this also can be flipped around in your hitch for a drop or a rise position, it will give you a drop of about 3 1/2 inches and a rise of about 3 1/2 inches.

To change your clevis ball mount, to remove it and switch it around, it uses these two easy to remove ball mount pins, they get the nice large D-ring handles on them, make them very easy to grasp, so there's no fumbling with a small hitch pin head, and over here, they use the large safety clips, which makes securing the pins very easy. So if you wanted to change this around, you just pull both of these clips out, slide the pins out, and then you can move the clevis pin ball mount whatever adjustment holes you need, or you can flip the whole unit over and adjust it that way. The inside width on this channel is 3 3/4 inches. Now, this will also work with all the Shocker hitch ball mounts and attachments, including a standard mount, a drop ball mount, pintle hook, and many more that we do sell separately on our website. This is a nice Grade 50 steel plate construction, uses cold-rolled steel shank, provide maximum durability.

They do use a nice premium powder coat finish on the channel and on the clevis pin ball mount, and this part is made in the USA. And again, the application, this is designed to fit 2 1/2 inch by 2 1/2 inch trailer hitch receivers, gross towing weight capacity of 12,000 pounds, and a tongue weight capacity of 1,200 pounds. But that should do it for the review on the Shocker Impact Cushioned Hitch with the clevis pin ball mount for 2 1/2 inch hitch receivers..
