Seaflo Boat Accessories - Non-Automatic Bilge Pump - SE59FR Review

Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at the Seaflo 12 volt DC submersible non-automatic bilge pump. It has 1100 gallons per hour flow. Now, this motorized pump law for water evacuation of any built-up water from the bilge wells on your boat. It's designed to install under your boat's inboard motor, and this pump is fully submersible.

It does offer traditional operation by a manual switch. Now, the manual switch is not included. We do sell that separately on our website. It's part number SE34FR, and it's listed on this product page as a related product. Now, the manual function allows you to turn the pump on and off when there's water present in your boat. The pump will not turn on if it's immersed in any oil, and you can also change this pump to an automatic pump with the addition of an automatic float switch.

Again, it's sold separately on our website, part number SE26FR, and it's listed as a related product on this product page also. Basically, that automatic flow switch will let the pump turn on when the water depth hits 2-1/4", and it'll shut off in the water depth is at 1" deep. The base on the bottom, and see if you squeeze it at the top here, it is a removable strainer base, which is nice because your motor and your impeller's right here. So, this is what will bring the water in and shoot it out. So, with this on it, it'll help protect any leaves or large objects from getting into that motor, and you can just pop it off and clean it off. This base is what'll connect to your boat.

You can see it has the industry-standard mounting bolt pattern that this will mount to, and then all you have to do is push your pump down on it, and with the base secured, you can just push in and remove it just like that. It allows for easy cleaning, and again, it's no problem to switch from other brand pumps. Now, the discharge outlet right over here, it's a 1-1/8" diameter hose bar. The hose is not included. Your hose will hook up to that.

This pump does meet or exceed the ROHS, SGS, and ISO standards.Few specs on this. It's a 12-volt DC voltage. The wire lead on this is about 3-feet. Maximum amperage is 3 amps. The head flow on this is 1100 gallons per hour at zero feet and 930 gallons per hour at three feet. Maximum water temperature is 110 degrees Fahrenheit, and last thing I want to do is just give you the size or dimensions on this. Overall height, bottom to the very top, is 4-1/4" tall. The width at the widest point is from the end here to the end of the hose bar, so that's going to be right at 3-1/2", and then the round footprint on this is going to be right at 2-3/4". But that should do it for the review on the Seaflo 12 volt DC submersible non-automatic bilge pump.
