Jeff: Hello everybody, This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Trailer Oil Bath Hub and Drum Assembly for 8,000 pound axles. Has the eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly provides the surface area for your brake shoes, or your brake magnets to grip when the brakes are activated. This drum is compatible with electric and hydraulic drum brakes. And this is an oil bath design.
Has the screw on clear cap here. And this will let you check the lubricant level without having to disassemble the hub. You can see the oil bath cap is clear, so you can just look through it to check the lubrication level. Now this hub and drum is a sturdy iron construction. It does come with everything shown here.
It comes with the bearing races, which are pre-installed in the hub inner and outer races.Comes with both the inner and outer bearings, comes with the oil seal, the oil cap, and the eight wheel lug nuts to hold your wheel to this. Few specs on this, the application is for 8,000 pound trailer axles. Now the drum dimension, and just get the ruler out. We'll measure that it's a 12 and a quarter inch diameter. So if we put our ruler on there, that's going to measure from inside to inside.
So, if we go straight across there's your 12 and a quarter inch measurement. The width on it, it's going to be right at four inches wide. Now this is designed to work with 12 and a quarter inch, by three and three eighths inch wide size brake assemblies. Bolt pattern on this is an eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern. The wheel stud diameter is five eighths of an inch. And the pilot hole diameter on this, which is measured from here to here is going to be 4.75 inches.
Now we had mentioned the bearing races are pre-installed in here, both inner and outer. The inner bearing, which is the larger is part number 25580. Has a 1.75 inner diameter. The outer bearing, which is the smaller one is part number 02475. Has an inch and a quarter inch inner diameter. You can see it goes in the bearing race right there. The unitized oil seal right here is included it's part number 10-63. And we had mentioned the clear oil bath center cap. That's screws into the outer portion right here. That's a part number RG 04-230. And then the eight, five eighths inch by 18 inch size flat flanged wheel nuts. They are part number 95188. But that should do it for the review on this Trailer Oil Bath Hub and Drum assembly for the 8,000 pound axles with the eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern.
