Review of Pro Series Weight Distribution PS49582

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Pro Series RB3 Weight Distribution System. This weight distribution system has a gross towing weight of 10,000 pounds and a maximum tongue weight capacity of 750 pounds. The shank on the unit can be used in either the drop or rise positions, whatever works best for your application, and it slides into 2" by 2" trailer hitch receiver and secures in place with the included hitch pin and clip. This weight distribution system evenly distributes weight over the axles of the tow vehicle and the trailer for stability and control. Ultimately it creates a more level ride for both the tow vehicle and the trailer. The unit features these round tapered spring bars that are designed to flex appropriately over uneven terrain for a controlled, even ride, and the spring bar tension can be adjusted. These lift brackets attach to the trailer frame and they suspend the arms with these chains here. So what you can do is you can actually switch the links in the chain at the connection point here on the lift bracket to fine tune the system.

Again, spring bar tension is completely adjustable with this system. Just switch the links in the left chains.Desired tilt is achieved using a traditional washer design. What this does is this unit basically installs between the head assembly and the shank. What you do is you add or remove washers from the spacer rivet to get the desired tilt you need from the weight distribution head. The clamp-on brackets secure in place with the included clips, so that's how they secure in the engaged position. Then they simply just clamp on to your trailer frame.

They come with the set bolt. Place it over your frame according to the instructions, tighten the bolt, so that way it doesn't go anywhere. The steel shank offers adjustability, so you can adjust the height. That way you can position the head assembly where you need for your application. This head assembly has a multi-hole design. Or, excuse me, the shank has a multi-hole design, so that way you can position the head where you need it, depending on your application. That's held in there, as you can see, with two bolts, washers and nuts.

The top bolt uses a conical tooth washer on each side. The bottom one does not use washers. It just has a bolt that goes through, and then it has a nut on the other side to hold it in place. The fabricated head is compatible with friction style sway control systems. Those are sold separately and available at etrailer.com.We're looking at a nice, durable steel construction with powder coated finishing.

It's going to help resist rust and corrosion and last a long time. The arms right here, they snap into the head assembly, so if you ever need to disengage them you just pull right here on the spring clip and you can disengage the arms as needed. Also on each side we have a Zerk fitting, so that way you can pump in grease and keep those sockets lubricated. That way the bars can move as needed inside the head assembly. It also comes with a snap up lever. This is designed to ease installation by reducing the amount of lifting required by the trailer jack. Once you're setting this up, your brackets will actually be in the disengage position and this connection point right here will be down. What you want to do is place this over that lever, and then this allows you to get the leverage you need to get that lift bracket to the engaged position. The system comes with everything you see laid out here on the table. You get the head assembly. You get the adjustable shank, spring bars, snap up brackets, lift handle, chains, pin and clip, and all necessary hardware. Really the only thing you need to get going is you do need a hitch ball. That's sold separately, and it requires 1-1/4" diameter shank. You can find those at etrailer.com.I you're using this in the rise position, it offers a maximum rise of 6-1/2" with the head assembly at the highest setting. If you're using it in the dropped position, it offers a maximum drop of 1-1/2" from the top of the hitch receiver opening to the ball platform within the lowest setting. These brackets right here, they take up about 5" along the trailer frame, and they are designed to fit trailer frame widths up to 3".That's going to do it for today's look at the Pro Series RB3 Weight Distribution System.

Yes we have a kit that is just what you need. If is part # RP6637 and it is a kit of 2 lift brackets, the installation bolt you referenced, the lift handle and 2 safety clips. Please note this product will not fit trailer frames that are wider than 2-1/2 inches. I have included a link to the product page for your reference. 43266
