Review of Performance Tool Camping and Hiking PTW2559

Today, we're going to take a look at the Performance Tool Magnesium Fire Starter. This is a waterproof magnesium fire starter. If you notice on one edge here, the black, it has a full length flint for making hot sparks. The serrated blade edge that it comes with makes magnesium shavings. This is a 3-inch block of magnesium. You just shave that block with this included serrated edge blade here to make about an 1/8 inch deep pile of shavings, about the size of a quarter.

The reason you do that is magnesium will light at a low temperature, about 880 degrees Fahrenheit. Once you get your shavings, then you'll strike this flint far 00:00:34 side with the lip of the serrated edge blade just like a match and that'll create a spark and ignite the shavings. You can also use a knife blade if you have to make the spark, also. One thing to remember is that shavings do burn very hot. They burn at about 5,000 degrees, so you do need to be careful. That should do it for the review on the Performance Tool Magnesium Fire Starter..
