Kenda Tires and Wheels - Tire with Wheel - AM31245 Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Kenda Loadstar ST175/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire, in a load range D, on this 13 inch silver aluminum trailer wheel, with the 5 on 4.5 inch bolt pattern. Now this Loadstar special trailer tire will outshine a lot of the other bias tires. It gives you a flatter tread. Gives you improved stability for excellent handling. It is a special trailer tire design, it's created specifically for trailers, not intended for use on any other vehicles. They do use an advanced rubber compound for longer tread wear, and low rolling resistance for a nice smooth ride. The wheel you can see that it's mounted on, is a silver aluminum wheel. It's very durable and rustproof.

It has an attractive five spoke design. It has the machine face on it, and the machine lip, and then the silver accent in between the spokes. The front and the back of the wheel are all clear coated. This tire and wheel assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications. A few specs on this. The diameter on the wheel is measured inside.

The inside is 13 inch diameter. The width on just the wheel by itself is five inches. Bolt pattern on this wheel is a 5 on 4.5 inch bolt pattern. If you want to measure that on a wheel, that's an odd number of lugs, in this case five. What you do is just pick any hole, let's say this one, and then you'll measure across to either one of these holes.

But when you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole, to the furthest edge of the hole that you measure to. This wheel, it'll measure 4.5 inches. So, 5 lug, 4.5 inch bolt pattern. Weight capacity on just the wheel is 1,660 pounds. It does use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20.The pilot hole diameter, which is the large hole here on the center of the wheel, goes over the hub on your axle, diameter of that opening is 3.19 inches.

It does not come with a center cap. If you want to use one, we do sell those separately on our website. You just have to make sure to buy one that uses the 3.19 diameter to fit in here. Tire size, which is stamped on here, ST for special trailer. 175/80D13, the D stands for diagonal belt, that means it's a bias ply tire. Section width on it is 6.6 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top, when it's in flight it's 24 inches. This tire is a load range D, which means it's an eight ply rated tire. That means it has a maximum load capacity of 1,610 pounds, at 65 PSI.And then the last thing I want to mention is that almost all the new trailer tires are coming through with a speed rating on them. The speed rating is stamped on the sidewall also. Where you find that is right after the size we just went over. You'll see a stamping of two numbers for a load index, and then the letter M. Speed rating is always designated by a letter designation. Speed rating M will mean 81 mile per hour speed rating. That should do it for the review on the Kenda Loadstar ST175/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire, in a load range D, on this 13 inch silver aluminum trailer wheel, with the 5 on 4.5 inch bolt pattern..
