Review of Hidden Hitch Ball Mounts 80213

Today we'll be reviewing part number 80213. This is the Hidden Hitch ball mount rated at 5,000 pounds. This mount is going fit a 2" x 2" receiver-style hitch. It's going to use a ball of a 1" shank diameter. We find that out by measuring the ball hole diameter here at the base. As you can see, it measures right at 1".

It has a really nice protective finish on it so it's going to stand up well against rust and corrosion, hollow shank in the back. That's hollow all the way through. This is rated for up to 5,000 pounds of gross trailer weight and 500 pounds of maximum tongue weight. It's also a very simple installation. Just take it and slide it into the receiver tube of the hitch and line up the pin holes and insert a pin and clip or a hitch pin and lock. Those items are sold separately and you can refer to the Ball Mounts products page under Related Items to view those products or go to our website and type in part number PC3.

It will refer you to this 5/8" pin that comes with a clip. To mount in this position, this is the drop position, it's going to give us a drop of 8". That's measuring from the inside top edge of the receiver tube to the top of the ball platform. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole is going to measure right at 10". The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the shank is going to measure about 3". We can flip this over and use it in the rise position to help ensure a more level tow depending on your tow application. Just take it and flip it over, re-insert it.

If we measure from the inside top edge of the receiver tube to the top of the ball platform, it's going to give us a rise of 6 3/4". We'll measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to this upright portion here, the closest point. It's going to measure about 4". You can see how that measurement will change as you go further up the mount. This is just to make sure that you have the appropriate amount of clearance that you need at the back of your vehicle when you use this in the rise position. You want to make sure that the outermost point of your vehicle does not interfere with this angled bar, this support system. That's going to do it for our review of part number 80213.

It's the Hidden Hitch ball mount rated at 5,000 pounds. .
