Review of HWT Tires and Wheels TTWAL0614545B

Today, we're going to review part number TTWAL0614545B, and this is the HWT 14 inch by 5-1/2 inch aluminum Hi-Spec Series 06 Trailer Wheel, 5 on 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern with the black accent. Now, this wheel is an aluminum wheel, which is very durable, very light weight, and rust proof. This is the Hi-Spec Series 06 design, has the black accents. It's very unique and appealing. Also, the nice thing is if you look at the front of the wheel, it has a machine finish to the face of the spokes and the spoke lip right here is also machine, and then in between the spokes, it's a black accent. The nice thing is the front and the back of the wheel they do clear coat for corrosion resistance. This wheel use the ICF technology, which is improved clamp force.

This will keep your wheel securely in place, so there's no need to retorque this after your initial installation. If you notice, it does have a center cap that covers the lugs. This center cap is included. This is a high quality wheel, meets the Department of Transportation specifications. I just want to show you the center cap is held on with a large Phillip screw right here. I'm going to remove this just to show you the bolt pattern.

Once we remove this Phillip screw, the cap will loosen up, and then once you get it fully out, I'll show you . there we go. Take the screw out and then your cap comes right off. You could see your bolt pattern right underneath there, the 5 on 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern. Now, one thing I want to mention. If you look at the cap, right where the hole is where the Phillip screw goes in, 180 degrees from that, there's a little tab on the end here, and the reason that's there, is when you go to line this up to the hole, right across from it, is the little indentation in the spoke.

What you do first is just put that tab of the cap in there, and then push it down and put your bolt in. When you tighten it down, it keeps that cap from rotating or moving once it's installed. Now, a few specs on this wheel, the dimension is a 14 inch diameter as measured inside to inside. The width is 5-1/2 inches, again inside to inside, so when you're measuring the dimensions on the wheel, you're always measuring when the tire's mounted on here, the tire beads will seat on the wheel right here, so you do your measurements from where the tire bead seat. If we do a diameter on this, we'll do inside to inside. You can see right at 14 inches for the diameter.

Again, the width, inside to inside, will be right at 5-1/2 inches, so 14 by 5-1/2 inches. The bolt pattern on this wheel, you can see, is a 5 on 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern; it's the 5 lugs. On a wheel that has an odd number of lugs, the way to measure the bolt pattern is you pick one of the lug holes and then you go directly across to either one of the holes right across from it, but the key is you measure from the starting hole the center and then the hole you go to the outer edge. If we go from this one to this one, if I put a tape on it, you can see center to outer edge is 4-1/2, so that'll will give you a 5 on 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern. This wheel does use the wheel lug size of a 1/2 inch by 20, a pilot hole diameter, which is the large hole here in the center of the wheel goes over the hub on your trailer. The measurement on this wheel is going to be right at 3.19 inches. This does have a 0 offset, and the weight capacity on this wheel is 1900 pounds. Just going to show you how the cap goes back in. Again, take that tab, line it up, push it on, put your screw back in the hole there, and then just take your Phillips screwdriver, go ahead and tighten that down. The thing you want to make sure is the center cap is made out of a plastic, so you don't want to over-tighten it, which could cause damage to it, so just get it tightened down. Once it's tightened down, just snug it up a few turns and just like that, it'll be nice and secure, won't move around on you wheel. That should do it for the review on part number TTWAL0614545B. This is the HWT 14 by 5-1/2-inch wheel. It's an aluminum Hi-Spec Series 06 Trailer Wheel with the 5 on 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern and the black accent. .
