Review of Gen-Y Hitch Accessories and Parts 325-GH-503

Speaker 1: Today, we're taking a look at the Gen-Y Adjustable Receiver Hitch. Now, this unit has a 16,000 pound gross trailer weight rating and a 2,000 pound ton weight capacity. It slides into your two-inch by two-inch trailer hitch receiver and the mount can be used in either the drop, or you can flip it over and use it in the rise position. It provides up to a five-inch riser drop, so you'll notice that on the unit you have three adjustable positions, so it gives a lot of versatility to the unit. This one right here would pretty much make whatever you're putting into this tube level or straight out with the receiver tube of your hitch. This one, right here, would provide a two and a half inch drop, and this one right here provides a five-inch drop. Flip it over and you have those same height increments in the rise position as well. Each receiver opening measures two inches by two inches and the unit can be used for multiple purposes.

For example, you could use one of the top positions for a bike rack or cargo carrier and the lower position for towing a trailer. It can be used with any standard two-inch ball mount, luggage rack, motorcycle carrier, cargo rack and so on. The unit is fabricated with heavy duty steel, so it's very strong and durable. The mount is precision milled and drilled for a perfect look and fit, weighs around 26 pounds, so it's got a really nice heavy duty design, corrosion resistant design. The unit is completely made from steel, very well built, and it has a durable silver vein powder coat finish on it to resist rust and corrosion. It does come with two pins and two clips to secure whatever it is you want to put into each tube.

A few measurements I want to give you real quick. I took a measurement of the overall link, so from the back of the shank to the front of the tubes, it measures 12 inches. Overall height from bottom to top is eight and one-eighth inches. Then from the center of this pin hole right here to the center of the adjustment holes is seven and one-eighth inches. From the center of the back hole to the center of the adjustment holes is eight and five-eighths inches. These two holes are really neat to have.

You can use whatever one works best for your application, and use whatever one gives you the most amount of clearance especially when using it in the rise position, because you want to make sure you have enough clearance from the rear most part of your vehicle to the upper right portion right here. That's going to do it for today's look at the Gen-Y Adjustable Receiver Hitch.
