Furrion RV Air Conditioners - Standard Air Conditioner - FACR14SA-PS Review

Today, we're going to take a look at the Furrion Chill white rooftop RV air conditioner with the 14,500 ETU cooling capacity. Now this Furrion Chill rooftop air conditioner is an aerodynamically designed, mid-profile, powerful air conditioner for your RV. It does offer the VibrationSmart and ClimateSmart technology. VibrationSmart uses compressor dampeners that'll reduce vibration and noise, and the ClimateSmart will help keep your air conditioner working and even the most extreme climates. The size of this unit, overall length of it, it's going to be right at 34 and seven eighths inches long. The width of it at the widest point is 27 and five eighths inches wide. And the overall height of it is about 13 and five eighths inches tall.

The weight of it is 88 pounds. You can see it has a nice aerodynamic design with a UV-resistant cover, base, and rear grill. And it is compatible with ducted or non-ducted cooling systems. It is constructed with lightweight materials. What I do want to do is I've removed some of the screws to allow us to pop off the cover here. So the white cover will come off and you'll be able to see the internal components.

This does use a dual fan technology. The condenser fan has a separate motor. The evaporator fan uses a separate motor. So it will run 25% more efficiently than a single fan unit. And if you notice they have these nice custom-fit foam pieces here that'll fit over the condenser fan and the evaporator fan to provide a very efficient system.

The dual fan technology is more quiet than a single fan unit, and it does include a sleep mode function to further reduce vibration and noise. This does use a soft turn on, so there's no start capacitor needed. It does include its own capacitor right here. And in the very front, let me reach up in here and you pull down the cord, the wiring cord. And you'll notice the plug on this is designed to plug directly into an Advent or Dometic unit. If you're just going to replace the rooftop air conditioner and use your existing distribution box and thermostat.

Now, if you do need to plug it into a Coleman unit, it does require an adapter that we do sell separately to fit it. It's part number C-FACR15SA-A01. And we do list that part number of that adapter on this product page as a related product. Now, if you are going to install this as a brand new unit to the RV or replacing the rooftop unit in the air distribution box, we do offer kits that will include the rooftop air conditioner, the distribution box, and the thermostats to install a complete AC system in your vehicle. And again, those kits are sold separately on the website. This does use a cleanable and replaceable air filter. Has multiple operating modes and three fan speeds. And this one comes with the white cover and the black base. It is also available in an all black unit that we do sell separately.Cooling capacity on this is 14,500 BTUs per hour. Electrical rating is 115 volts or 60 hertz. Electrical power for cooling is 1,620 Watts. And the maximum start-up amperage is 14.6 amps. And the last thing is to install this onto your roof it does require a roof opening size of 14 inches. But that should do it for the review on the Furrion Chill white rooftop RV air conditioner with the 14,500 BTU cooling capacity..
