Fulton Trailer Hitch Ball Mount - 6in D_rop/ 5in Rise Aluminum Ball Mount - F67CR Review

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Fulton aluminum ball mount. This is a solid forged aluminum ball mount. So it's gonna be very lightweight. It's going to resist rust and corrosion due to that aluminum construction so it will be ideal for your marine use, whether you're wanting to take a fishing boat out to the lake, or maybe take out your jet ski or something like that this is gonna do a great job for you. It is going to slide right into your two inch by two inch trailer hitch receiver on your tow vehicle.

And it will provide a one inch diameter ball hole so that you can put your hitch ball on there, which will allow you to put your trailer's coupler in place and be connected so that you can tow it. This does not include a hitch ball but you can put on a 1-7/8 or two inch or 2-5/16 inch hitch ball, depending on what your trailer coupler needs, you just need to make sure that it does have a one inch diameter shank so it will fit down in there. If you do wanna keep brand consistency, Fulton does have this two inch stainless steel hitch ball that you can purchase separately using the part number you see on the screen there, and it will just slide right in place and then tighten down so that you have that connection point for your trailer coupled to fit onto so you can pull it down the road. That is sold separately, but, will work really well If you are needing a two inch hitch ball for your trailer. Now, as far as our weight capacities go, this ball mount is going to have an 8,000 pound gross towing weight, which is the weight of the trailer plus the load included, it is going to have a maximum tongue weight of 800 pounds, which is the downward pressure on your receiver tube or ball so should do a really good job for you.

Now keep in mind, that is just for the ball mount here so with all of your towing setup, you're only going to be as strong as the weakest link So if your ball is rated for a lower weight capacity than the ball mount, you're gonna have to go with that ball weight capacity or whatever the weakest component is in your system. So just keep that in mind when you're towing, but another really important part of towing is ensuring that your trailer is gonna ride level. So you wanna make sure that it is going to fit onto your hitch level. That's why we have a six inch drop here so if your trailer sits quite a bit lower than your hitch, this will provide that six inch drop. And that's measured from the top inside edge of your receiver tube down to the top of your ball mount platform here.

So that's the six inch drop. You can flip it over and it will work exactly the same, except it will you a five inch rise, so if your trailer sits a little bit higher than your trailer hitch, and that will give you that option, your ball will get sit right on top as well. Very easy to switch that around. So depending on the needs of your trailer and your tow vehicle, that six inch drop or five inch rise can be very helpful. We do have other options other ball mounts that have less extreme drops or more greater drops.

So depending on your setup, we have other options available for you as well. As far as our length goes, I'm going to measure from the center of our hitch ball, hole there back to our pinhole, and that is right about 12 inches, maybe just shy about 11-7/8 of an inch back from that hole to your pin hole. Now your pin hole is going to accept your standard 5/8 inch pin and clip that you probably already have with your trailer. But if not, we do have several options available here etrailer.com. I'd also recommend maybe getting a locking pin if you're a little bit more, concerned about security, make sure that no one can take off with your ball mount we do have several of those locking pins as well. You just wanna make sure that you're getting that 5/8 inch diameter to fit right in there. This is a really nice option for you. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty so if you we're to have any problems with it, you're more than welcome to reach out. We always wanna make sure that our customers are getting, getting good quality products and having a good experience. And I think this is gonna be a really nice option that aluminum construction is going to allow it to, be very lightweight, easy to maneuver and, will hold up very well for you for a long time to come. So that's gonna complete our look for it today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
