Fastway Ball Mounts - Fixed Ball Mount - DTBM5400 Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Fastway Flash Solid Aluminum Ball Mount with the 4" drop, 3" rise and a 10,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now this is a nice solid one piece ball mount, has the built in drop or rise to let you match the ball height of your vehicle at the tongue height of your trailer. This ball mount is machined from a solid piece of aircraft-grade billet aluminum. The solid aluminum produce a nice lightweight, yet strong ball mount. And because it's a solid one piece there's no welds which could cause weak points that might break. And if you notice it has a nice polish finish to it, creates a nice high quality appearance. Now the hitch ball is not included, you would have to supply that. We do sell those separately on our website.

Few dimensions on the hitch ball that you would need. The diameter for the shank that'll fit in this hole is going to be 1 1/4". The platform thickness is going to be right at 1". And also the hitch pin and clip that will hold this into your hitch receiver is not included, you would have to supply that. If you need to purchase them, we do sell them separately on our website.

This is a 5/8" diameter hole, so it does require a 5/8" diameter pin and clip. And we also sell hitch locks that you could lock this to your trailer hitch so nobody would take it. And again, they're sold separately, and they're listed on this product page as a related product. This part is made in the USA. It's designed to fit 2" by 2" trailer hitch receivers. Towing capacity of 10,000 pounds, tongue weight capacity of 1,000 pounds.

Again, the drop on this, which is this position, is going to be measured from the top of the ball mount to the top of the shank, and it's a 4" drop. The rise would be if you flipped it over and inserted it, measure from the top of the ball platform, top of the shank, going to be right at 3". And the last measurement I want to give you is the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the hitch ball hole. So if we go center to center, it's right at 8 1/2".But that should do it for the review on the Fastway Flash Solid Aluminum Ball Mount with the 4" drop, the 3" rise and a 10,000 pound gross towing weight capacity.
