Review of Dutton-Lainson Trailer Jack DL22210

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Dutton-Lainson round swivel marine jack. Now this marine jack lets you raise and lower your boat or recreational trailer. It features a lift capacity of 1,500 pounds and it features a swivel design which lets you swing the jack up along the trailer frame for easy and convenient storage and then bring it back down when you're ready to use it. It has this spring loaded pull pin right here. This is very easy and comfortable to control and operate. So you pull that and it allows the jack to swivel apart from the plate.

So it can be moved up to a stowed position. And then you pull it again and it allows it to go back to the in use position. So that's a really nice feature of the unit. You can actually just store this alongside the trailer frame during travel. And then when you arrive to your destination and you're ready to uncouple the trailer from the vehicle you can bring the jack back down and get ready to use it.

It's easy, it's convenient. One of the neat things about this jack is overall it just feels like they've put a lot of effort into making it comfortable and convenient to use. For instance we have the easily accessible spring loaded plunger pin, we have the comfort grip handle, finger indentions there. Rotates all the way around so that's a nice easy design. And then the plastic wheel on this unit is slightly larger than others on the market. The wheel diameter is eight inches and on some of the other jacks you'll notice that when the wheel rotates your handle actually rotates.

But that does not apply to this one which is a nice feature to have. The mounting plate is located right here. This provides extra side load support, mounting hardware and brackets are included. The handle radius is around 6-1/8 inches. The unit's made from a durable steel construction. It features powder coated finishing and it also features zinc TUFFPLATE finishing and the finishings are designed to really protect the components and the jack from rust, corrosion and the elements.Again it bolts easily to the side of your trailer mounting hardware included.

The other thing I want to mention is located right here we have two built in grease ports which allow for easy maintenance. You attach your grease gun, pump in grease and that's going to lubricate the internal components. Now when it comes to the application that it works with, this is designed to fit trailers with a frame height up to five inches and a frame width up to three inches. The brackets have multiple holes on them so it'll accommodate again trailer frames up to five inches high by three inches wide. Now the bracket height, with the jack in the fully retracted position, from the bottom of the wheel to the top of hole of the bracket we're looking at a retracted measurement of about 16-5/8 inches and a fully extended measurement of about 28-5/8 inches which gives this jack a travel or lift of 12 inches total. And then from the top of the bracket to the top of the jack we have a measurement of around 11-3/4 inches. That's going to do it for today's look at the Dutton-Lainson round swivel marine jack with a lift capacity of 1,500 pounds.
