Today we'll be reviewing part number 24741. This is the Draw-Tite Sport Frame trailer hitch receiver. It is custom fit for particular vehicles, so to see if it's going to fit your particular year, make, and model, you can refer to the vehicle list at the bottom of the product page. This is a class 1 hitch, so our receiver tube opening is going to measure 1-1/4" by 1-1/4". Now this does have a tab that's located on the inside of the receiver tube. That tab allows for class 1 accessories only, so be cautious of that.
The custom fit trailer hitch is going to let you tow a trailer, or carry a bike rack or cargo carrier by using your vehicle. It is from a fully welded steel construction, so it does ensure strength and durability. It's also tested tough, so the safety and reliability criteria exceed industry standards. This hitch is a bolt-on installation, so welding is required, although you will have to drill out two 1/2" holes for these 2 bolts here. A complete hardware kit and installation instructions are all included. It also comes with lifetime technical support from the experts at etrailer.com.
Now this hitch has a really nice black powder-coat finish on it that covers an EE coat base for superior rust protection. You can also purchase a draw bar, pin, and clip. Those are all sold separately if you need those. So again, this is a class 1 rating, which means that it's going to have a maximum gross trailer weight of 2,000 pounds, and a max tongue weight capacity of 200 pounds. Again, our receiver opening is 1-1/4" by 1-1/4". A couple other measurements to go over real quick.
The distance from the center of our hitch pin hole to the opening of our receiver tube is going to measure 2". It does have 3 different bolt hole locations. You have these 2 up top, and then you have 1 here at the rear. The distance between these 2 holes from center to center is going to measure 5-1/4". So the way this would install, is you would raise your hitch into position.
Then you use the carriage bolt, the block, conical tooth washer, and the hex nut to secure the back portion in place. Then you'll need to remove the bottom rear fascia screws to allow for drill access. Drill two 1/2" holes, 5-1/4" apart center on center. Then you can fish wire the carriage bolts and blocks through the ends of the bumper and through the drill holes. So it does come with the fish wire that you need. It just threads onto the end of the bolt, and then you can pull it through as needed to the appropriate holes. Then you can install the lock washers and the hex bolts, or the hex nuts, and tighten everything down. Now, when you do that, you want to be sure to use a torque wrench and torque everything down to specifications. Then you can reinstall the fascia screws, and you should be all set to go. Then you'll be ready to install your class 1 accessory. You'll need a 1/2" pin and clip. That's sold separately. You can refer to our website and get one of those using part number PC2. That's going to do it for today's review of part number 24741. This is the Draw-Tite Sport Frame trailer hitch receiver. .
