Today we're going to review part number 8-259-5UC1-EZ. This is the EZ Lube Trailer Hub Assembly for 8-inch to 10-inch wheels that use a 2,000-pound axle with a 5 on 4 1/2-inch bolt pattern. Now, this part will include everything shown here. This includes the inner and outer bearings. It includes the races which are already pressed into the assembly. Here's for the outer bearing and here's the race in the back for the inner bearing.
It does also include grease seal which fits on the back there. It includes the 5, 1/2-inch nuts that fit on the wheel bolts on the Hub Trailer Assembly and it also includes this EZ Lube grease cap that has the rubber plug in the middle and basically the EZ Lube system helps it make it easier to lubricate the bearing because you don't have to take it apart to put grease in them.Basically, on an EZ Lube system, the spindle on the very end will have a grease Zerk Fitting. To access that Zerk Fitting you can remove this rubber plug and hook your grease on to that Zerk Fitting. This will be right here. The spindle would come through and then you could lubricate your assembly just that way.
That's why this is all included. This does have a nice paint finish on the hub assembly itself. Now, the application on this part is for 2,000-pound axles. The diameter of the hub flange which is the whole diameter. This part right here is 5 1/2 inches in diameter and that's for use with 8-inch to 10-inch wheels. Now, the bolt pattern which would be the measurement of how far these wheel bolts are from each other.
Basically, if you drew a circle between the center of each of these 5 wheel bolts and measure the diameter of that circle be 4 1/2 inches so that's why the bolt patter is considered a 5 log 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, the bearings, the inner and outer bearings on the assembly use the same part number. It's L44649. Basically, you just drop these into the race on the front. The same way on the back.
It would fit right in there. Now, the grease seal that would go on the back. In other words if you put in your bearing in there, your grease seal which would go on there and be capped in.It is a part number 10-9. It has the inner diameter right in here of 1 1/2 inches. Now, the grease cap we had mentioned. The diameter on that. This diameter here is 1.986 inches. Again, that is designed to fit on the outer section. And that plug would go right on the inside. Now, the capacity itself from this hub assembly is 1,250 pounds. When used with another one on the other side it would give you a total capacity of 2,500-pounds but again they're mainly designed to fit on 2,000-pound axle. Now, just a note to mention to you is that some axles that are rated at 2,000 pounds might require a different seal and bearings than this one here so you want to be sure that the bearings on the hub that you're replacing have the part number L44649 stamped on the inner and outer bearings. If the numbers on your bearings are different, then you would be to use a different hub assembly. This one would not work. That should do it for the review on part number 8-259-5UCi-EZ, the EZ Lube Trailer Hub Assembly for 8 to 10-inch wheels with 2,000-pound axles. .
