Review of Dexter Axle Trailer Hubs and Drums 008-416-91

Speaker 1: Today, we're taking a look at the Dexter 12-and-one-quarter-inch Oil Bath hub and rotor assembly. Now, this hub and rotor assembly works with 7,000 pound axles with disc brakes. It features machine processing, which all that's internally. That's gonna minimize run-out and warping. And what that means is that the contaminates can't get in-between the rotor and hub and cause damage. This is a cast-iron construction, which provides a lot of strength and durability. You'll notice that it has the vented design, which regulates temperature to prevent overheating.

You can see everything that it comes with laid out here on the table, so the wheel studs are already pressed in. The bearings, you have our inner bearing and your outer bearing. Races are already pre-installed. You get oil seal and the oil cap, so all that's included, as well as the lug nuts there. Now, there's an E-coat finish over the unit which protects it against rust and corrosion and wear. The product is made in the USA.

Again, it is designed to work with 7,000 pound axles with disc brakes. That'll fit wheel sizes of 16 inches, 16-and-a-half inches, and 17 inches. The bolt pattern on the unit is 8 on 6-and-a-half and the wheel bolt diameter is a half-inch. The rotor diameter, so outer edge to outer edge, that's 12-and-one-quarter inches. This right here, is your inner bearing. So the race is already installed.

It goes on the inner part of the unit here. Now, grease is not included, or the oil, so that will need to be provided separately but it does come with all these other components, so inner bearing, outer bearing, oil seal presses in back there, and then you got the studs and the lug nuts, and then you have the oil cap, which threads on right here. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Dexter 12-and-one-quarter-inch Oil Bath hub and rotor assembly.
