Review of Demco Trailer Coupler DM12141-95

Today we're going to be reviewing part number Dm12141-95. This is the Demco trailer coupler with the flat plate mount. It's going to feature the EZ latch system. This is a heavy duty ball coupler. It's going to let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. It's going to provide a nice connection for your hitch ball.

It is designed to fit a 2 5/16 inch hitch ball. It's going to be ideal for utility, live stock, cargo, and construction trailers. See here that we have the flat mounting plate that bolts directly to your trailer. Hardware is not included so you'll need to get that separately. We take a measurement between the mount holes, center on center, it's going to give us a measurement of 4 1/2 inches. If we measure this direction, it's also going to give us a measurement of 4 1/2 inches. It is a square design.

The actual plate overall is going to measure 6 inches. Again, it's going to be square so it should measure 6 by 6. It's made from a sturdy steel construction with a zinc plated finish so it's going to offer excellent corrosion resistance. It's going to offer a weight capacity of 21,000 pounds. The bolt hole diameter here on the back is going to measure 5/8 of an inch. The EZ latch system ensures simple, secure hook up and disconnect. It actually lets you hook up when the latch is in a closed position.

All you have to do is drop the coupler over the hitch ball and the latch will snap into place. It's also going to feature a small little hole right here. That's for a coupler pin or a coupler lock. I have a 2 5/16 inch hitch ball which are going to be sold separately. I just want to show you how easily it snaps into place. You can hear it engage.

Another thing you want to look for is you want to make sure the lever is horizontal. You want to make sure it's laying flat. You want to make sure the coupler pin holes are inline with one another. That's going to let you know that the hitch ball is seated correctly in the coupler socket. To disengage, all you have to do is lift up on the lever and it's going to release the ball from the coupler. If that ball is not engaged all the way, you're going to notice this lever will actually be sitting at a slight angle. That just means you need to try reconnecting the ball inside the coupler. That's going to do it for today's review of part number Dm12141-95. This is the Demco trailer coupler. .
