Curt Trailer Hitch Ball - Rocker Shock Absorbing Hitch Ball - C94CR Review

Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the Curt rocker ball shock, absorbing two inch hitch ball. This is going to be a great option to alleviate a lot of the transfer of motion from our trailer into our truck. Especially whenever you're taking off from a dead stop or coming to a stop from. Maybe a more sudden stop. This has a bushing on the inside that's going to provide some cushioning, and prevent that jarring motion and a lot of the rattle that we can experience from transferring into your towing vehicle. So it's going to make for a more comfortable ride, and it's also going to save some wear and tear on your truck and trailer.

Now keep in mind, this is just going to be the hitch ball, it does not come with the shank. I just have this mocked up here for you, so you can get an idea of what it looks like.So let's take a little closer look at it and talk about some of the more detailed specs of our hitch ball. So again, this is going to be a two inch hitch ball. It is made out of a sturdy steel construction with a chrome finish to help resist any kind of rust or corrosion. The base here is made out of a forged steel with a carbide black powder coat finish.

So it's going to be really nice and durable, should stay looking nice for a long time. On the inside. It's pretty hard for you to see or pretty much impossible, but that's where it's going to have that bushing to help alleviate that forward and backward motion. It does also have this anti swivel base. So there's going to be this little tab that goes on top of your ball mount to prevent it from turning side to side. And this is not a Curt ball Mount or a shank.

I just have one that we had here in the shop. So a Curt might fit a little bit better. It fits onto about a two inch platform, or maybe two and an eighth, if you really want to get snug up against it. But it does prevent it from turning much more than just a little bit. Also, I don't have this torqued down.

It's just up here to mock up what it's going to look like. Should be pretty maintenance free. At the bottom of that ball mount, there is a little grease cirque, so you can lube that up to maintain the motion, backward and forward over time, to keep everything rolling as it should. As far as the size of is, again, two inch ball. The shank is a three quarter inch diameter and it's two and an eighth inch long. The capacity that this can handle is 3,500 pounds. Of course, you do want to check the owner's manual for your vehicle, also for your hitch and for the ball shank that you're going to get for this. Go off with the lowest number between any of those components because you're really only as strong as your weakest link. It is covered by a one-year limited warranty. Lock washer and nut are included with this. So you can get it tightened down pretty easily. That's about all there is to it for our look at the Curt rocker ball shock absorbing hitch ball. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is going to be the right solution for you. Again, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
