Curt Pintle Hitch - Pintle Mounting Plate - CU59FR Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Curt SecureLatch Slotted Pintle Mount for 2-1/2" Hitches. It has a 30,000 pound weight capacity. Now, this hitch-mounted plate provides a nice mounting point for your Curt SecureLatch pintle hooks. We do sell those hooks separately. It's part number CU97FR, CU47FR, or CU87FR. There's three different ones with different weight capacities, and again they're sold separately on our website. I did happen to pull one of those just to show you what we're talking about.

This one I pulled is a CU47FR, and you can see it has the plate that you'll use these bolts to bolt this right to the pintle mount just like that. Now, this is a slotted mounting plate. Allows for maximum adjustability instead of just fixed height positions. It's a one-tool height adjustment, no disassembly required. You can see it just bolted to these bolts here and you can slide it up or down, whatever position you need. This is a fabricated steel construction.

Has a nice gray teridium finish on it to resist corrosion. As I mentioned, the hardware's included, the bolts, the nuts, the spacer plates. And if you notice they are a corrosion-resistant gold zinc finish on the hardware. Now, to install this, when you do install this into your hitch receiver, it will require a hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock to secure it. Those items we do sell separately on our website and it does require a 5/8" diameter pin. If you already have one, you can use it as long as it's a 5/8" diameter.A few specs on this, again, this is designed to fit into a 2-1/2" by 2-1/2" trailer hitch receiver.

Gross trailer weight capacity is 30,000 pounds. Want to give you a few measurements on this. The overall length from this end to the front of the plate, it's going to be right at 11-5/8". And then the plate itself, if we measure that, the width of it, it's going to be right at 5-1/8" and the height is going to be right at 10-5/8" tall. One last note on this mount, it is not intended for use in the rise position. It can only be used in the drop position like it is shown here.

But that should do it for the review on the Curt SecureLatch Slotted Pintle Mount for 2-1/2" Hitches with a 30,000 pound weight capacity.
