Curt Hitch Covers - Hitch Cap Sensor - C56UR Review

Hello, everybody. This is [email protected] Today, we're gonna take a look at this Curt two inch hitch cap sensor for the GMC Sierra MultiPro and the Chevrolet Silverado Multi-Flex tailgates. Now, that GMC MultiPro and Chevrolet Multi-Flex tailgate, it's a nice exciting innovation for truck owners and it adds functionality and easy access to your truck bed. It allows basically the inner portion of the tailgate to extend further down than the main tailgate and allow you to step up into the truck bed. Now, when you're towing a trailer with your GMC or Chevrolet truck, it is important to protect that inner tailgate from any damage by a ball mount or a hitch accessory that you might leave in your hitch.

If that ball mount or accessory is left in the receiver folding down that inner panel on the tailgate could result in costly damage. And the tailgate replacement costs can be as much as $3,000 and it even adds downtime for your truck and the alternative tailgate sensors that are out there are expensive and they require cutting and splicing into the wiring. So we're gonna zoom in here and show you what we have here is this Curt hitch cap sensor This'll save your Chevrolet Multi-Flexer GMC MultiPro tailgate from any damage. Basically, this hitch cap will go around your hitch receiver opening and it's designed to work in sync with your truck's electronics. The sensor, if you open right up here, there's a sensor in this that'll install around the hitch receiver opening and it prevents the inner tailgate from folding down and being damaged by that ball mount or accessory that's installed in the hitch.

So basically, when this hitch is flipped open like it is now, that inner tailgate will not work. And then when the cover is closed, if you don't have anything in there and you close it, then that inner tailgate will operate normally. And again, just open up and the way this installs, this is actually two pieces. I haven't screwed together on both sides but it comes in half and you put the bottom half up put the top half on, screw it tighten it down together around your hitch receiver opening. How does a very easy installation requires no wire cutting or splicing Everything plugs in, plugs into the factory connectors.

They send a plug right into here and a plug into your factory wiring harness. So there's no extra electronic components or batteries required. It is a nice, sleek, durable design suited for all work conditions. And the nice thing is it does not interfere with your trailer towing accessories. It is a plastic construction with a nice black finish.

It does include the sensor cap and the wiring harness is laid out here on the table. Few specs on this. This is designed to fit a two inch by two inch trailer hitch receiver opening. And the last thing I want to do is just give you the overall measurements on it. So if we measure the width from this end to this end, it's going to be about four and a quarter inches wide. The height from the very bottom, very top is about four and one eight inches tall. And the total depth on this from the front to the very back is right about two inches. But again, with it closed like that, that'll work normally. With that open, then it'll keep that tailgate from folding down. But that should do it for the review on this Curt two inch hitch cap sensor for the GMC Sierra MultiPro and the Chevrolet Silverado Multi-Flex tailgates..
