Curt Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring - Trailer Hitch Wiring - C56013 Review

Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the Curt T-connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-way flat trailer connector. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2004 to 2008 Chevrolet Malibu vehicles and the 2005 to 2010 Pontiac G6 vehicles. And on a custom fit part like this, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle and it'll show if this'll work for your application. Now this kit will provide a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights and it is compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole and 7-pole adapters that we do sell separately on our website.

This harness does connect very quickly and easily. There's no cutting or splicing the wires. Basically you'll keep the connection points, which are either behind the tail lights or near the rear bumper. And then you plug in these T-connectors to the connectors that are on the vehicle. The yellow wire connector right here will go to the driver's side and the one with the green wire in it will go to the passenger side.

Ground your white wire right here, and then you're all ready to go. Now it does, if you notice, comes with everything shown here, comes with this nice dust cap that you can install onto your 4-way.And when you're not using it, let's put it on the correct way. Here we go. And you could leave it on there if you want. And then when you're not plugged into a trailer, you can actually put the cover on there and it'll protect your terminals just like that from any damage or from the elements. Now also just to go through where all these parts go, what you'll do as mentioned, you'll go to the rear of the vehicle.

And then, like I say, depending on which model vehicle you have, you either go behind the tail lights or near the rear bumper. And then you'll start on the driver's side. You'll take this connector right here, unplug the connector that's on there, plug this in between the connector on the driver's side with the yellow wire. Take this, go over to the passenger side and you'll do the same, unplug it and plug this in there. You'll have the white wire here. You want to connect that to a good clean ground that's nearby.

If you don't have one, they do give you a ground screw that you can make your own ground. Once that's all connected, you can run this out towards the back to where the trailer is. Now they also give you some extra cable ties to take up any slack in the wiring, and then they do give you a nice set of detailed instructions that'll describe how it connects and where the connection points are.But that should do it for the review on this Curt T-connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-way flat trailer connector..
